THE GAME!!
Well remember I did that 1:33 with a route that wasn't really the best. If I think my route over, I can probably do better. And of course, I did that run with speed. And I have no idea how to tell whether the PAL version is slower or not, but I still think Tombi! 2 (PAL) looks slower.

Based on your times, and watching your videos, I don't notice a different.  There's no information on the official Tomba! 2 site. [giant advert basically]
I've decided to shoot for a better goal of sub 1:27:30.
THE GAME!!
Sub-1:27 huh? Sounds alright.
Since I've almost finished SMG (I have been playing it a lot sicne Christmas day) I'm gonna try to fit in some time to do a few SS's of Tombi! and report back.

On an unrelated note, I can't see much difference in speed between the NTSC and PAL versions of Tombi 2.
THE GAME!!
Oh so that's where you've been? Tongue

Well, I've also been to a bunch of relatives.

I notice a lot of progress has been made in the past couple of days. Whether I can be bothered to watch every segement that is on YouTube is a different matter...

Filmed up to the Water Temple. 6 of 13 segments completed. Only one disc has been rendered useless by my recorder.
THE GAME!!
You've made it 13 segments now I see. I still don't have the sound working on the Capture Card yet...so chances are, it will be a while till Klonoa gets recorded.

Looking forward to it.

Still not had chance to practice; PS2 is doing something wrong that I can't comprehend, but I've memorised the route well enough Cheesy

Edit: ... and as my sig now says, I'm shooting for 0:50 or less as my SS time. I would hope for less, but pig battles may waste a lot more time than the segmented run.
THE GAME!!
Ahh. A Single-segment Tombi! run eh? Will you be using a similar route to Robert's?
It looks like I'll be using exactly his route. Really, for a min completion (except "Hungry Monkey") his route is optimal.

I hope you don't mind!

Good luck, MTG. I've no objection, I'd want to see it too!
Practice the Red and Navy Pigs the most, and don't forget your route for the math beads midway through.  Trying to get the 2 Charity Wings above the entrance to Lava Caves will be a definite runkiller (because you might fall in the gap and screw yourself for getting the pig bag/healing herbs) but if one wing falls in the gap and you collect one, you can use the Where did I come from? door instead of flying.
Basically, I'm making sure to memorise the Haunted Mansion section the most (basically what every room is, the egg route and the key locations) and the Math beads route. Other than that, I should be OK.

How do you fast text skip?

I remember posting how to do the text here somewhere.  Check the old pages.
So it's similar to the shirt stretching technique? You said on page 10 that you just used the back of your nail and "twitched" like crazy.

Well...exchange "twitch" for "spasm" and that would be more accurate.
THE GAME!!
Spasm? Good one! Tongue
I've been practicing a bit more, but it's kinda obvious that trying to play through the whole game from the start as a practice session is kinda pointless.

To rectify this, I'm gonna buy a new memory card, and make a save at the beggining of the equivalent of every two or so of Robert's segments, and practice the most difficult parts many times. Therefore, any chance you can post the most recent and optimal route for a run?

Oh yeah, I think I'm gonna settle for <1 death, but would obviously prefer no deaths.
Run got posted. Grats!

Thanks. You can expect the next run to be posted before May.
THE GAME!!
May huh? Sweet!
I remember you mentioning something about your route in your run being slightly un-optimal. How so?
Where is everyone?

I'm still waiting on my new memory card so I can create the files. However, I can do the start to a good standard consistently.

Were you talking to me 2 posts ago?
I've been avoiding running for a while. SPM I want to finish first. This run should still be on SDA before May '07.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Don't you mean '08?
