I always get a error when I'm climbing up the rocks to Roth where he fights a wolf. Is it legit to pause timer and reload game after getting the error and resume the timer when I'm on the same spot or little bit before the spot.
Ammo and everthing else is matches.

Can i cut the error out or do i have to show everything how i go into taskmanager and close game get back in ... and so on ?

preferably you'll want to avoid the lock up, but I've had my game freeze several times as well, but not consistently in the same spot. I would say to avoid any doubt, record everything, but yes, pause the timer would be okay i'd say.

As for official timing for SDA, I'm curious on everyone's thoughts. I'm leaning towards NOT counting cutscenes and loading screens. Aside from version differences in loading, there are random runs where I am unable to skip certain cutscenes as fast as usual, or even skip them at all. Stronghold battle has started to be more consistent in not being able to be skipped. Does anyone have an argument against this? of course once someone decides to submit a run, we'll clear this up more.

was on WR pace up to going to the monastery for the last time, -4:27 on my splits, then in the final 15 minutes lost over 7 and half minutes

Very interesting.. since im playing on PC I get the crash between the cliffs also quite often.. and also at some other spots really late in the game it can crash which ruined several WR runs.. so I'd highly welcome stopping timer and continue

So.. this might be a bit weird but I have to brag about this. I decided to make just one run again after all this time..
Somehow I "accidentally" ran NEW WR TIME of 2:04:59 (maybe 2:05:00 or 2:05:01) --> http://www.twitch.tv/theartisticballistic/c/2252548 (Normal SS any% PC) with unseen RNG elements ;)! (wasn't fun during the run though :P)
Now the thing is my game crashed exactly at that spot between the cliffs. I stopped the timer (which unfortuneately is the same hotkey as my streambackground overlay (I'll change that)) You can see the whole back to desktop and all restarting the game also the timer is visible as well except when the overlay is present. (unpause is again same hotkey as overlay so I tried to switch it back to game as fast as possible). I paused like 2 seconds late and restarted about 4!! seconds late. I paused my end time slightly late also. When the overlay is gone you can see that the time "moved" from 20s to 23s. !!But still needs confirmation!! (or what time my run actually was)
Also i think 2:02:00 is a very possible time to run on PC but below that is going to be super uber hard.

Started working on a segmented run. currently up to the part where she gets captured and has her hands behind her back around 15 minutes in. I'm 42 seconds ahead of my best split to that point.

I'm now roughly 2:12 ahead my typical runs at 28:55 into the run. I'm up to the radio tower ascent. This next segment will take a bit. doing the pause buffer through the door is slower then clipping through the wall (for PC i think it's about the same), so I'm going to take the time to get that first try. Segment 15 will be a longer segment then the others, going from the ascent, to the bottom of the slide after the plane crash.

shockingly only 12 seconds ahead of cookieforu's run... PC does have some advantages over console though up to this point, including the house skip which saves a good amount of time

MASSIVE progress today. I'm now through Shantytown (jump into blood cutscene). 8:46 ahead of my best splits and 3:50 ahead of the PC WR. total time is 57:34 so far. I wont be working on this much over the next week sadly. I am importing my segments into a video editor so I'll have a nicely compiled video rather then many. There are several segments where I checkpoint warp to save a second or more.

EDIT: Currently uploading my progress. I separated them into smaller groups and added some commentary. at the end I'll upload the full run without for those who prefer without.

yup, i hear ya on the final skip. I lost 6 minutes on it during my last run. It's what pushed me over the edge to do a segmented run.

Oh cookieforu I think that's what we need!! I can barely do more than 2-3 runs per week without losing my key ingerdience for speed running which is calmness... so seeing eachothers fails will definately cheer everyone up and helps a lot at not getting angry at all that bullshit RNG.

At the moment I'm trying to find an Alex skip for PC but it feels so impossible...:(
EDIT: Doen't feel impossible anymore... but it still could take lightyears or forever until something starts to work... yeah I said lightyears!!

Contains some flaws: Crash between the cliffs, first grim skip I failed in two ways.. first of all I simply failed it (me so funny) second I misclicked on stream overlay and didnt see it immediately.. but while overlay is on I dont accomplish anything except for failing the first grim skip. And yea that friendship skip doesn't work out as it used to^^
but soon...!!!

*waves* brand new to speedrunning but I just had to do it for Tomb Raider (Xbox). Currently having trouble skipping the seppuku fight. Is there a tutorial for that?

Yet again, I'm not sure if this is news, but I've been working on trying to get the PC method for the friendship skip working for console (I suck at the weird walljump thing). It's not consistent yet, but it's becoming more realistic. The trick is to try from the opposite side of the railing. Maybe someone who's better than me will have more luck finding a consistent method for it.

I would say on average I prolly can pull it off once every 5 minutes, still working on consistency though.
