There seems to be no evidence of this game ever having been speed run, and very little discussion about it it all. Regardless, I love this game, and I'm pretty happy with my current times as well. I just have to put it all together in one run. You can only really run this in one category, which would just be finishing the game, as there is nothing else you can do. I suppose you could do it single segment or segmented, but I have been running it as the former so far. The only question I have (as I'm new to SDA and speed running in general) is

1. Do I need to run this on the original console, or can I run it on a PS2 for faster disc speed?

2. Once I get a run I'm happy with, is submitting a video from my capture card good enough, or does it HAVE to be on a DVD?

1) It's perfectly ok to run the game using a PS2 with fast disc speed, unless the fast disc speed causes glitches that let's you do things you aren't supposed to, then the fast disc speed has to be disabled (but the PS2 is still ok).

2) Using a capture card to record your run is also perfectly fine, I would suggest that you do a source file test, which is record a little game play and posting the resulting file in a new topic over at Tech Support. Just to make sure the capture settings are good to go. It would suck to record a nice run and then have it rejected for video problems.
Absolutely! And I just submit a run when it's pretty much as good as I can do right?

Pretty much, might be a good idea to post route tests, test runs, etc and keep the thread updated, it gives others a chance to become interested in helping you test things, come with route suggestions, or give you a little competition. Those things can help with motivation when working on a run.
Like I said, this game barely seems to exist to other people, so I doubt anyone would be interested. However, this is all great advice, and will follow through with it. Thank you for everything Warepire, and I'll be sure to update!
So I was told to update my progress, so here it is.

This is without a PS2 slim, but there's still a tad bit more work.

Back to topic: Posting progress updates was merely a suggestion, for some it helps with motivation.
Odd looking game but quite entertaining thanks to the commentary, it looks like a quite RNG heavy. Doesn't seem to have been released in PAL regions.

I wish you good luck and will be looking forward to progress updates if you decide to keep posting them. I don't think I can offer much help with actual strategies unfortunately.
You're right unfortunately, there is a lot of RNG involved, but the point is to be able to react to how Tom reacts (RNG controlled). And yes I love most metal, I could talk about it all day! No worries about strat help, I wouldn't expect anyone to know much about this game, as it is very unpopular. I'm not running this game every night anymore until I get a PS2 slim, because it's kind of pointless running it without it at this point. I appreciate the support Warepire, and will continue to update more, especially when I get the slim.
