Verification Files

http://v.speeddemosarchive.com/Timecop_verification_finished/

Please refer to the Verification Guidelines before posting. Verifications are due by May 20, 2013.

Please post your opinions about the run and be certain to conclude your post with a verdict (Accept/Reject). This is not a contest where the majority wins - I will judge each verification on its content. Please keep your verification brief unless you have a good reason otherwise.

After 2 weeks I will read all of the verifications and move this thread to the main verification board and post my verdict.
All the things
As always, please check the verification files to ensure the recording quality. A highlight of the twitch broadcast is available below for convenience.

audio and video are okay. This was probably the funniest run I've ever watched. The mocap guy running through the stage, I've never seen anything like that before outside a fighting game. I don't think there was any cheating.

Willing to teach you the impossible
Run starts at 10:48ish. Accept.
Wholesale octopi slaughter and bellhop gangsters. Accept. It's also a well optimized run.
spread the dirt to the populace
I've seen lots of these attempts live, and this has become one of my favorite bad games period. A near-perfect summation of gaming in the mid-90s - the only thing missing is FMV, and even that's in the canceled Sega CD version of this!

A heck of a job as usual from Omni, and an easy accept.

Other than the extra failed attempt at the start I can't really complain about this video other than it, you know, being Timecop. It's not perfect but it's got good execution and luck and the few mistakes are pretty self-evident. Accept.

I will never stop laughing at the animations in this game.

All the things
Huh. I'm really not sure how an extra attempt got into the verification files, I'm pretty sure when I set it up in anri it was only ~22 min. Oh well, it will be fixed for the final submission. Sorry about that!

EDIT: I re-encoded the files. They should be available soon, this time with just teh urn.

Fixed files should be up now.

HELLO!
Man I remember when games were going in this direction and all sterile and polygonish.

I have no idea what's going on in this game though.  Except that they clearly blew all  the budget on video capture and licensing, having nothing left for gameplay, sound, and music.

Sad how in the underwater stage the animation of the main character walking isn't quite smooth, and has that hitch.  And that the main baddie in Level 1 didn't have a death capture. Guessing they had one day in the capture lab and only got to do so much, heh.

Oh man a jet car.

Anyway.  It seems like the runner hardly stops moving in the direction he's intending to go, but I can't speak to the routing being correct.

I'm going to go ahead and guess the game is way more awkward to control than the runner is making it look, given how clunky the whole game actually seems.

That's true of like every animation in the game, though.

Just as a bit of trivia, the game's music was done by David Cage, who would later go on to make Heavy Rain. The music is oddly addicting in parts too.

The gameplay is as clunky as you're guessing it is. There's a reason beyond speed that I only use jump kicks.
The Dork Knight himself.
Actually if you check, NONE of the looping animations in the game go smoothly. Watch his shoulder during the normal run, gotta luv the TEC symbol jerk during the loop.

Ok, so I have to get this outta the way: WTF DID I JUST WATCH?!?!?!??! This game has so much holy-omg-eyes-burning moments it's hard to tell what kind of structure is supposed to be present. That doesn't stop the game from being destroyed. I'm tempted to reject this run (and brow beat everyone else to do the same) just to make him play this game more, but he's been tortured enough.

Accept.

Terraffirmative!
If you don't accept this run, Jean-Claude Van Damme will travel back in time and kick your 8-year old self in the face.
The Dork Knight himself.
Or worse, make you kick your own 8-yr old self in the face.......

I guess I noticed it more in the underwater area since there's more walking and less kicking there.
The Speedrunning Teacher
I'm at work...watching this...and all I gotta say is:

There had better be a .gif somewhere of the walking animations. Especially for that first stage's foes. The animation is just too strongth.

Oh, and Jean-Claude Van Damme has just come from the future to threaten me with a roundhouse kick to my face unless I accept...so...

Accept.
