Hey guys! I used the search and couldn't find a topic so I thought I'd make one Smiley

I'm completely new to the speed running scene and today I managed to finally set a time in something!  I've been playing They Bleed Pixels and today I managed to set a single segment time of 1 hour 14 minutes.  I'm aware that the world record time is something like 35 mins, so my time seems a bit rubbish but for a first try I'm quite happy with it Grin

Is there anyone else who runs this game?  There was lots of deaths in my run, so I figure I could get it to less than an hour just by not sucking at the game so much, but it would be nice to discuss some tips and tricks with people if there is anyone who's interested Cheesy

Might be magic...
Welcome to SDA Smiley

I haven't played this game, but that seems like a pretty good first go relative to the fastest known time. Keep at it and if you get a good time, even if it's not faster than the fastest time, it might be good enough to submit.

If you're thinking of eventually submitting a run, it's probably a good idea to post a short quality test first (on the Tech Support board in this forum). That will prevent any disappointment if you record a particularly good attempt that doesn't meet the SDA video quality requirements.

Good luck!
Thanks for the heads up man Grin

I probably won't bother trying to submit anything until I start hitting the 45 minute mark at least but thanks for letting me know about that quality test, I'll be sure to do that Smiley

I'll have to go over the guidelines on the site before I even consider upping anything
Hmm, 3-3 can be a very random level and is one of the harder parts of the run. 4-3 is consistent, but also ludicrously hard. That Final time needs to be chopped down though Wink What's slowing you down there?
The thing that slows me down the most, especially in 3-3, will be the cthulu faces blocking my way.  The thing that was slowing me down the most was just me dying constantly in the later stages.  4-3 I'm getting pretty good at but I do tend to lose a pretty large amount of time on that blade room with the 5 switches.  The final level has a tower of shamblers with a moving platform and that tends to screw me up for a while.

That said, after 4 days of practice I've finally been able to get sub 60.  This morning I did a run where I managed to die a lot less than usual and got my time down to 52 mins Cheesy Still lots of practice required though, a deathless run would be ideal haha
