I sat through the Makita presentation like I said I would. You indeed put my time to rubbish. You cut corners and backflipped in ways I never even thought of. Shoulda used that during Ikarius....coulda saved me 10..-billion hours -_-;; I can't believe I wasn't even using her entire moveset.....at least now I finally know what happens when ya stock on protocol. yikes, huge. I can see the appeal now.

Damage-taken aside, you made some of them stage fights look good in the later levels. Enjoyed the protocol shortcuts you took on some of the bosses too. Katinka mostly....oh, and the ballsy volkov liftkannon stunt. Smiley

Forgot how bland the music is....and how much I remember hating the Urik segments. Also, I'm jealous of your recording quality.

Thanks DJ Incompetent, I'm glad there's one person on shmups.com who enjoyed the run (probably one of two :-/).

About the video quality, you can thank Nate for (the guy who encodes runs on our site) the video quality. Well that, and my DVD recorder.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to watch my run.

Yeah, probably Makita is the best for the uninitiated, since they won't even notice the small mistakes that were fixed for the other runs. Plus the dashing around looks the nicest. Smiley

While I'm not trying to revive this thread by ANY means (And God forbid I doubt I'll come close to Uyama's lvl of play) Is there any possible way of running an all S-Rank run as a separate category, or is the current fast but not full S-Rank the only one you'd accept? Granted I'd have to literally spend hours just to get anywhere near Mike's lvl of play (And trust me I've attempted to try some of the stuff he does and it's a joke watching myself doing it XD it's just that bad) but yeah, I'm curious...

and for the record Mike...when I saw this game on sale for 10 dollars I literally went HELL YES and bought it on the spot. That is how much of an impact you running this game made on me Tongue

Seriously, I'm glad people are still playing this game, and I'm also glad you enjoy the current runs.

I guess an S-rank run would be a separate category. The 15th stage would be a killer though (lots of enemies + the boss).

I might improve the Makita run someday, because there's a lot of little optimizations that can be applied here and there, mostly from being more aggressive, and tighter with dodging (this isn't including stuff like stage 8 and such).

True, and especially with Kazuo since he's slower moving, but it would be a welcome challenge I'd think. What do you think a good time running all S-Rank would go for? I remember earlier in the thread you said that a previous all S-Rank (No Dmg if I was correct) was rejected due to very conservative play. Also what extra little upgrades would you use? Would the setup be the same or would you tweek something just slightly? (Such as using the different guns that Kazuo has access too?)

A new update on Makita would be awesome though for sure, and I can promise you if you end up doing that I WILL d/l that thing promptly and watch it (And study it as well)

Also, yes your influence is so epic that if you and Frezy ever collided again (a la FFVI run that was done at Magfest 'Opera Scene') the resulting awesomeness would melt the brains of everyone on the planet thus making us all your easily influenced slaves...there is just that much damn awesomeness and influence Tongue
