hi there for the first time.

i thought of doing speedruns for those two games.

The Punisher
i think it is the best to do it level-wise like max payne 'cause of the returning to the menu after each level.

there is the ability to gain medals by getting a high score when not get shot by the enemies.

Earning those madals is very hard on higher difficulty levels.
therefore i'm thinking to run as fast as it's possible to the end of each level is the first attempt for a speedrun.
afterwards somebody (maybe i) can go to do a medal-gaining-run.

also is there, after beating a level, the new "challenge mode" with different goals for each level like comleting in a certain time, with a specific weapon or without taking damage.

but that's to much for the beginning.

The Warriors
this game is more speedrun-friendly.
you don't return to the menu after each level but you go back to your, let's say, apartment.

the time you stay there will also be added to the game timer but there is no level timer, i think.

between the levels are (for 100% run) also little quests to do.

in each level are certain tasks to do for the level goal and some are bonus for 100%.
but a speedrun as is only requires the primary goals

I have no solution, but i admire the problem.
I haven't played one of these games and i'm not sure they are very popular. But you could wait for more comments ( warriors and punisher fans, come out! ) and even if they really aren't that popular, you can do your run if it is fun to you, and maybe it will even be accepted at SDA.

One tipp: don't do 2 runs at once, or at least concentrate on one run, because you will never finish one of these if you try to do them at once.

btw: your grammar can only be bad, not worse Wink but my grammar sucks too, so don't mind about it.
right. Wink

these two games are the ones from my collection are worth doing a speedrun.
the others are even done and unreachable or just to long to do.

and i don't wanna do both at the time. it's just to see which is more popular but i prefer the punisher cause i finished it around 4 or 5 times.

I'd love to see a speedrun of The Punisher, my own fear being that it is NOT a speedrun friendly game. You HAVE to kill most baddies and there are only single routes through most levels.

Warriors is one of the worst games I have ever played.
don't forget - it's a rockstar game... Grin

you're the first one who knows one of the games and so i'm beginning to prove my skills. Wink

I'd LOVE to see a speedrun of The Punisher. Also you say you prefer it, so it's better that you do a run of this one. It will be more fun to you - and if it's fun to you, and you put some work in this, then this speedrun will be fun to SEE as well ;).
Wish you luck...

Punisher is one hell of a fun game.

But I just can't fathom how this could be effectively speedrun (speedran?).

I think one of the beauties of speedrunning is the planning of routes and tricks which can be manipulated. Punisher is extremely linear and through my playing of the game I didn't find any trick to make the process faster. Many sections require you to interrogate, this takes time and I imagine it would be quite boring for a viewer to watch for the fortieth time.

Still, don't let this deter you. Another beauty of speedrunning is the fun that the runner can have doing it, so I believe it to be a worthwhile activity for you for that reason alone. Even if you elected not to submit the run.
