Update on both MQ and FF8: Both are marathon ready now.
I love the banner!
Is it too late for any more donation incentives to be added? I would like to see the FF12 intro cinematic as one.
<(^_^)>
<3 the banner, holy crap it's beautiful. Can someone post some html code so I can advertise it?
Moo! Flap! Hug!
Shiden: Nope, not too late to add incentives.  Let's ask Nitrodon and AlecK about that one -- what do you think about the FF12 cinematic intro?

Kirby: Thank you so much for wanting to advertise the marathon.  You can either download the banner and post it on Twitch as your header banner (though Twitch does some weird stuff, where it changes the size of the banner and makes it all fuzzy, if you do that).  Alternately, you can post the banner in your long bio using:
Code:
<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.crystalsforlife.ca" target="_blank">
<img src="http://www.crystalsforlife.ca/C4L-Banner.jpg" width="620" alt="Crystals For Life" title="Crystals For Life: The Final Fantasy Speedrunning Marathon" style="margin-bottom:10px;" /></a>
The FF12 cinematic intro is 7 minutes long, and showing it is simply a matter of not pressing start+X (the "skip cutscene" button sequence in FF12).  Based on my run last week (which was by no means perfect), the estimate can easily accommodate the additional time.  As for whether it will bring in money, I will defer to people who actually like FF12.

I always enjoy watching the cinematics and story in ff12. Though id be more interested in donation incentives if possible to fight additional espers.
Most additional espers would be completely unrealistic.  Addramelech is really the only one that I think even could work, but I'd still say it's a bit much.
Another one for FF12 I thought of is demonstrating the Dead Character Glitch LOL, I'm sure he hasn't even tried it before but I would enjoy watching him struggle trying to do it. xD Everyone here loves breaking games no? ;P

dat jerk
I don't know if you would go for this Poxnor, but I came up for a donation incentive. $4000 to have me or Caracarn to play the English version of X-2 during bonus stream.
Love that banner, I will put it on my channel too :3
Poxnor had understandable concerns regarding a potential prize, so I'd like to post it for any feedback everyone might have.

As you can see, the three main entries in the FF series for SNES. The natural downside, they're all for the Super Famicom, which means the winner(s) would need either:

- A Super Famicom / PAL SNES
- A modified SNES (tabs removed, such as mine)
- a shelf to simply leave them on as a collectable

As for the potential upside, all 3 carts are the original v1.0's. All 3 are complete in box (game, plastic tray, instructions.) As well, I have a C.I.B. FFIV Easytype that I would include as well, however it's simply not in front of me at the moment.

Any thoughts?
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Modifying a SNES is super easy (I just took a pliers and removed the back tabs after a minute of fiddling).

Also, I think those boxed carts are a great prize. You can either separate them by game or have them as a grand prize for the entire marathon.

Put a modified SNES with the tabs removed together with those games and I'd call that Grand Prize material.
Moo! Flap! Hug!
Ack, I never meant to imply that those weren't great prizes, so I hope it didn't come off like that.  There's really awesome.  All I meant to express was I was worried that a large percentage of potential winners wouldn't know what to do with them, or would get them and mistakenly think that they were broken or something.

But if we could get our hands on a modified SNES, we could give it away as a grand set.  Or, alternately (if we give them away separately, for each game), we could include a little print-out of how people can play them (...that's a really simple idea; I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier).
Oh no no no no Poxnor, no worries. I'm a rather democratic fellow, and it's a valid concern. I wanted to get input because, lets be honest, I'd have zero issues in just keeping them for myself haha

I m gonna donate to try and win those.
You can even use a Gane Genie o play SFAM games on a SNES with no modding. There's also converters. Not sure how easy said things are to get these days, though.
Execute.
Not only am I not gonna get any sleep, now you're gonna take all my money in donations too... *grumble grumble*

holy crap I want those snes games

but I'm already broke Cry

I guess I'll live with the PSP versions.
Oh, and scratch the PAL option. There's way too much modification involved to get a SFC cart to play on it. I'm working on an option Poxnor, I'll let you know the moment I hear.
I would like to donate a prize! I have an original NA cart of Final Fantasy 1 for NES (says REV-A on the back, is that good?), but the issue is I have no clue if it works or if the battery is still good since I don't own a NES to test it. Where does this one send it to?
