Rocket Knight Adventures

If that's not it, there's a sequel called Sparkster. (SNES and Genesis Sparkster are totally different games btw.)

yeah! its one of those thanks
Everything's better with Magitek
Bertin, do you know which game it was, or should I just list both?

Quote from Enhasa:
PS the best part of this thread is how Sum2k3 asked about Battle City, and then like on the next page, DAVIS asked about the same game yet again! That would be pretty funny if both instances were listed in the first post.

There, I listed it again just for you. Wink

I'm very sure it was Rocket Knight Adventures.

Hi, I'm Enhasa and I copied the last two posts from the "first game you ever played" thread (those were the only two that fit here).

NoiseCrash's is Fisher-Price: Firehouse Rescue and gia's is Chopper Command.

Awesome. I wasn't really asking what the name of the game was but it's neat that you looked it up anyway. I took a look at it and that's exactly it. Brings back memories, however limited they may be.
There is this game I remember playing...I am pretty sure it's for the SNES, but it may be for the NES...it had 4 playable characters and the main goal toward the end was to build some sort of robot (I think it was the form of a dinosaur???) and you wanted to get a 'smart' character so you could build it no problem (one of the guys was a scientist) and the 'smarter' your character was the suckier his weapon was.

The graphics looked good for back then, and the view of it all was like a bird's eye view and it was an up and down scroller (not side scroller).

Any help is appreciated!

Actually I found out it was "The Chaos Engine"

thanks to all anyways!
Need HELP with finding this games name!!!

I figured a speed run website might be a good place to help me out with this.

I just wanted to see if anyone knew what the name of the game I am talking about is, I have been trying to figure it out for sometime now.

It's a PS1 game I'm pretty sure, it's a space racing game, different tracks in our galaxy, bunch of different species.

One thing I remember is the end track is our Asteroid Belt (it forms a race track somehow when it binds together).

I can't remember too much else about the gameplay sadly :-/

I always thought the game was called something like Upsilon Indy or Epsilon Indy or something similar to that.

Any help I can get will be awesome, I miss this game so much.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
Looney Tunes: Space Race (aka Space Race) ends with an asteroid belt track. Otherwise it could be Miracle Space Race or Starwinder, which I know nothing about. Who knows, there are a bunch of space racing games for some reason.

Yep, I'm bumping this topic because I might have found Rooster's game.

Is it Robosport?

Sadly no, that's not it.

Enhansa asked me to describe more, and well, there's not much more.

It was basically Bomberman, with the difference that you didnt throw bombs but spit a single laser beam or whatever through your mouth in the direction you were looking at.

And it had spiders.

The game is Starwinder Smiley
OK, I'll throw one in here that's been bugging me for quite a while, two in fact.

First was for the BBC Micro, from memory it was the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad wolf, had to stop the Big Bad Wolf coming down the chimney I think. Then there was a chequerboard/chessboard pattern and you had to make it from one side to the other, possibly sticking to colours and avoiding the wolf... Poor description, I know.

Next one was for the SNES, I think it was turn based on an isometric playing field with quite large squares (say 5cm square) on which you built mechs or missile silos or other things... My memory is very hazy, but hopefully that's enough for somene to know what I'm talking about?

Thanks in advance.
Lay waste to everything...but I still love SDA!
The second one is Metal Marines, i suppose.
You are correct, thank you so very much.

I hate to say this, but you're probably screwed if this site doesn't return anything on "pigs".
Enhasa: Yeah, I've checked there previously and sadly I think I'll have to resign to the fact that I'm not remembering the details correctly. It WAS over 20 years ago in kindgergarten though so I really shouldn't be surprised, hopefully someone will see this in the future and know what I'm talking about though.

this has been bugging me for a month now, i got this game as a birthday gift somewhere around 2000-2002, i remember it was for the PS1 (maybe other systems also) and that it was horrible, the engine was really mad and wanted to set the camera to the most inpractical of angels when it was a critical moment

the game was in 3D, you controlled a Link-ish (as seen in Ocraina Of Time / Majoras Mask) character, its possible he was a racoon,
the intro level was basicly castlegrounds and you where taught the basics in fighting, jumping, pushing stuff ... after that you where ready to meen the world, i am pretty sure you travelled to a tall tower-like building, from this building you would enter a tunnel which had all sorts of traps, rocks comming rolling behind you or straight towards you, the game engine made this really really REALLY hard and i remember giving up here ... cant remember what i did to it, most likely sold it

even though i hated the game with all my heart back then it recently started bugging me that i cannot recall it's name, and it wont stop bugging me until someone knows which game this is so if anyone has a clue what the hell i am talking about some assistance would be awesome
Brave fencer musashi?
You got a deletion wish?
Quote from MatrixTN:
Friend of mine at work has been looking for this game for a long time.

It's a boxing game on the Playstation (either that system or Genesis, really can't remember but I doubt it was on Genesis).  Has a particular opponent that tells you not to hit him in the stomach.  The second time you do, he lets out a big fart.  Hitting him in the stomach a third time results in you winning by TKO because he has to leave the ring (crapped himself).

It has come to his attention that a friend found the game in a yard sale recently but won't tell him what the name of the game is for fear of refusing to call him or some stupid thing.

I'm pretty sure it's not on Genesis cause there are at least 4 boxing games there, and I've played 3 of them (the 4th I know vaguely cause it features Muhammad Ali [not Greatest Heavyweights, which I own]).

Bumping with additional information I could've used the first time.  My friend says that the game in question here used to be in arcades but wasn't highly popular (sucky graphics, what have you).  Again, I don't think it's R2R (suggested by Enhasa).
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I don't know of any arcade games that fit, but I'm not an expert. Maybe it's just arcade-style gameplay, like Midway games like R2R. If you don't think it's R2R, maybe it's Contender (or Contender 2).

no, but it is a very qualified guess

the characters had a more european/american design if that makes any sense, and i am almost certain the main character where an animal of some sort

Could you please be more specific?

3D games with bad camera angles and fighting/jumping/pushing stuff can pretty much be simplified down to 3D games. Almost same with all that + castlegrounds and anthropomorphic main character. Not knocking your description I guess, just the fact that every other PS1 game was like this so there isn't much you can do to describe it better. Action adventure was the crazy #1 genre of that generation.

Are you sure it was PS1 and not PS2, given that the years were 2000-2002? I have some guesses but I don't want to sound patronizing by saying something like Crash Bandicoot (lol, I know that's not it) plus I'm not sure any of these are likely to be hate-able.

the tunnel i described was the very first non-training level in the game but other that that this is as specific as i can be Sad i gave up at this level after trying for an entire day to beat the damn thing ... its possible the tunnel had some lava pits later on, i know ... it still narrows it down to almost all 3D Platform Action/Adventure game Undecided

i remember a sticker saying 129 SEK (a brand new game at the time would cost around 400 SEK) so i am positive the game had been around for some time when i got it, the game was not used because it still had its plastic wrapper ... i never thought that the fact that my parents didnt bother removing the price tags of my gifts would come in handy Grin

i know it is a PS1 game because i did not own a PS2 at the time ... i bought a PS2 only one year before they released the slim model

and i am certain it is not a Crash Bandicoot game, i own all of them and i love them to pieces, also i never seen Crash run around with a sword Tongue
My feelings on The Demon Rush
I want to guess medieval, but that game was actually good, IIRC.

I am completely basing this on the fact the character has a sword.

Oh wait, it could be Alundra 2, god what a disappointment after the first game. The first Alundra is honestly the best Zelda game Nintendo never made, IMO.
Waiting hurts my soul...
I'll toss a guess out...

Kingsley's Adventure - Has a training level at the beginning, has a sword, but you'd probably remember if the hero was a fox...

another to look at might be Excalibur 2555 A.D., but I haven't played either one, so I can't really say for certain.
