There won't be much hype if the game is boring for a lot of it. (/me never played WW)

It isn't a boring game per say, but I couldn't sit through watching someone else play the game for a whole six hours without some form of commentary and excitement*. We already would have the entire chat(both stream and IRC) audience as well as the people in the actual room of the event. Some of the speedruns through this past marathon(AGDQ1) would have been unbearable without the crowd, but they were still very enjoyable nonetheless.

There are runs that I watched on the marathon that I would never have watched on the main site because of that.

*have you ever watched a run and thought "Wow, that was a nice trick" That same feeling by a whole roomful of people makes it so much more entertaining, and you get discussion, jokes, and the like to make it so much more bearable for the boring segments such as trying to find a pokemon that can learn teleport(anyone remember Pokemon Yellow AGDQ1's  fail?, still a good run, but that really messed it up) or in Wind Waker's case, any sort if sailing or quest-ing(is that a verb?).

Anyway, you'd know what I meant if you played the game. Those triforce shards were brutal, it was rather boring to do, but the rest of it would make up for it and the people provide stress relief the whole way through.  It was a great game and certainly supports the title of awesome, but from a viewers standpoint maybe not so much. It really can't be explained, you'd have to have played it. If you have a Wii or a Gamecube, it is very high on my list of recommendations and I recommend you pick it up.

EDIT:
I can see it being very successful as Filler Material, from 2am to 8am or something similar on one of the days. That way it would serve a purpose and those that didn't want to watch it really wouldn't be missing much while those that do can watch it then and there, or they can watch the archive. It wouldn't receive the audience it deserves, but that would be the only real way to get a game this long crammed into the marathon.
Waiting hurts my soul...
Isn't WW the most disliked LoZ game? I don't see it ever getting into the main marathon unless some game breaking glitch is found that cuts the time by more than half. Even then it'd be a stretch.

Not a walrus
No, Adventure of Link is the most disliked LoZ game.

The problem with Wind Waker is that a speed run is 60% sailing and still way too long for a marathon.

welcome to the machine
Wind Waker has no chance.  Too much sailing, too much dumb triforce shard stuff, too much plot, too little action.

Speaking of no chance, I told mike this but may as well post it.  I'm dropping all of my provisional games.  Running mischief makers is a kick in the nuts, f-zero gx I probably won't have time to do a sufficiently good job on (carry that torch, mike89!), and the others I'm not really inclined to try right now for various reasons.

I think here's another reason that Catherine should get done at the marathon: Catherine Sales Set Atlus Record.  Atlus has put out a lot of nitch stuff that often gets widely ignored - but a ton of them are great games.  They deserve the recognition for giving us games that I'm sure other developers would ignore.

Yeah, the relationship thing is part of the game, but I can totally influence the ending I want based upon the confessional booth questions between stages.  There are 1 exceptionally good cutscene that I think people would pay money to see, and a 2nd shortly after that which is pretty good and ties into the first.  Combined those two scenes are about 15 minutes.  I haven't got a full timing of the game.  Looking at a collection of videos and doing rough timing in my head, it'll be around 1:30 for easy, but I'll get a better idea when I start running the game from start to finish straight.

(Plus there's a nice function that if one puzzle is going really bad, I can call about the skip function since I have gold prizes on all of the easy and normal stages.  Hopefully I won't need that at all...it's kinda cheap, but great if you're going for achievements.)

Edit: Did a rough speed run full game playthough on easy.  With a few brain farts and a couple of deaths and viewing the ending (but not the 2 cutscenes that would be for bonus $), it was about 2.5 hours.  I figure with the mistakes made, that would cut off enough time to include those two cutscenes and still make that mark.  So 2:30 for easy difficulty.  I really don't have a desire to do normal/hard at the marathon, given how much luck is involved on the final stages, since there's a lot of mystery boxes which can make things really quick...or painfully slow.
I survived MIKE-Fest 1
Just a note to all the graveyard shift talking, our viewer-ship will be international there will be more watchers from the USA but we  shouldn't underestimate the European watchers so there is not a dead spot at all (maybe if you consider 700 viewers as graveyard)
Good point mik, just let me know what you all decide.  I'm good either way, but it would greatly influence if I show up to this or not.

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks?

Phantom Hourglass is the better speed running game of the two, you can get warps pretty early in the game and they are actually useful.  While Spirit Tracks is pretty much changes many things for the worse other than being a more challenging game of the two. Recording wise, wait until the 3DS add on is out, because I don't think many of the viewers would like to see a giant hand/stylus throughout the run.
How would Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2 fare in a speed run?

ME1 is pretty straight forward on missions and whatnot, ME2 time could be heavily effected depending if you want to do loyalty missions or not.  Both would take a while, not sure how much skipping could be done.
Mass Effect is long, but not as long as most RPGs. A marathon estimate would be around 2:30-2:40. It has a handful of small tricks and skips but it's mostly pretty boring to watch. You could get votes on gender/name/appearance/reporter punching, though.

I am sure you could get a major online source or a magazine to lend you a Nitro Capture. I say some of the more well known guys from the scene see if they can get a loaner. I know a lot of gaming magazines are big on projects for charity, I am sure they would lend a hand anyway they can.
I'm just tossing my hat in the ring and expecting no real results, but i've been toying with Metal Gear Solid 4 and well...when you cut out the cinema's its a fairly short game with some unbelievably epic moments.  And if theres interest i'd be willing to try and have a concrete run of it by AGDQ2 (again im mostly just posting this to get the idea out there, from my understanding the marathons already unbelievably chock full of win already).

Possible Donation incentives could include Lul weapons (musket that creates tornados, Tranq darts that create adverse effects like rage, laughter, etc) alternate skins (Face's and Costumes namely).

Never gonna happen
I think, it's still possible suggest games.

Crash Bandicoot 1,2,3

One of those could be in, but queston is, who run it?
RPG TASer
Mature games seem like a very bad idea for a charity event.

They've been done before, like Bayonetta last year.
I may attend the next AGDQ depending on if SDA is interested in seeing any of my games run.

Currently, these are games I could speedrun:

Ocarina of Time (Any% RBA or Any% No-RBA)
Mr. Gimmick (NES reproduction cart)
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Any% OR 100% (N64)
Mario Kart 64 (150cc Grand Prix)
James Bond Agent Under Fire Any% (GCN)
Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon (PC), I can learn any Putt-Putt game easily though Tongue

Fucking Weeaboo
Mr. Gimmick is a fantastic game that everybody needs to see.  Can you do the best ending yet?  We could do that as a donation choice.
Gimme some sugar Shaggy!
Well I've seen a few comments about it during SGDQ, and I think that a Ratchet and Clank game would be great to put on.

I would suggest Going Commando: It's the only one I've already practiced. No glitch NG+ 1:30-2:00 No glitch 2:00-2:30 Glitch NG+1:00-1:30 Glitch 1:45-2:15

Also, might I suggest doing Katamari Forever over the other two Katamari games. It's great for bidding because people could bid between: Katamari Forever Mode (Normal mode, with jumping), or Katamari Drive mode (Super speed, with Jump), (or Classic Katamari mode (Normal mode, without Jump) for the stages that classic katamari applies to.)
Main Work!!!
I would probably like to see Shadow of the empire(any% or 100%(could be based on donation)).
I'm just trying to impress you.
Posting to confirm what I was talking to mike about in the chat: I would learn TJ&E1 for AGDQ. If anyone wants to do co-op with me we can pound out a new route.
TIOLET!
Mike, I figure I can do The Second Encounter playing on my own in multiplayer co-op mode. That way I can use respawns should the infamous "marathon luck" strike. And there can also be a bidding war for the three different blood colours red, green and hippie.

Atlus sales record is a joke. Yay some small niche company sold a fraction of what a major company did!
