I know this is the silliest suggestion but is there any chance that the max avatar size/filesize limit can be stated in the profile edit section where you upload your avatar?  I asked for the dimensions but I figure it'd be cool for future reference for others who don't know.
mike, you probably have abp enabled ... there is an offensive word in the thread title.

i believe if the image is larger than 120 pixels in either dimension it will be resized to fit (keeping aspect ratio). the file size limit is effectively 100 MB but that may change.
1-Up!
I think I remember you mentioning that you'd like to overhaul Unread view to include Private threads, but in case that's my imagination, it would be awesome if one or both of these features were possible. Maybe too niche and SDA-centric for y'all but I know I would stand to benefit.

1.) Unread Private Threads show up at the top of Unread view. (Or even if Private threads got a [in tabs] feature. Right now I have 1 unread Private thread, probably somebody editing the last post, but it's not on the first 3 pages of my 20+ pages of Private threads. I have no way of knowing which thread it is afaik)

2.) Ability to add recipients to a private thread found by using the search feature. I imagine this looking like the Private threads page where there is a blue + to the left of the Users for each thread.
Is there a way to disable the java-script auto-quick-reply thing at the bottom of the forum threads?  Possibly a basic theme or something?  Just curious if there's an option.
appearance: auto-show the post box on the last page of threads
awesome, thanks Smiley

Alright, I have a question now.  I attached a file to the first post, but then updated the file, so i went to delete that one and re-attach the new one on that post.  However, I found I couldn't attach a file to an old post.  Is this intended, a bug, or a feature, and is there any way to allow attaching a file to an already created post by editing it?
it's both intended and a bug. basically it's not trivial to add and we haven't gotten around to it yet. stay tuned.

You can delete your old reply and repost it with the new attached file (if, of course, new replies haven't appeared after it).
In such case, you could simply refer to another reply with the file attached (and change the reference every time).
So basically:
First post -> link to post that contains attachment.
All other posts (except the one that contains the attachment) -> link to first post.
I just noticed that the post box is now resizable horizontally at the lower right corner. Could it possibly be an upper corner and allow vertical resizing?

as i understand this is pretty difficult to do. please use the size +/- button.

added support for the justin/twitch.tv api, so threads with one of those streams in the first post will appear with "on-air" next to them in board view. i also fixed ustream support - i wish they would stop changing the embed code. if you want to fix your ustream thread, put in the new embed code from ustream. make sure you have the "Use the old embed code instead" box checked as below.

That's a browser feature, not part of Taiga. It appears in all text-area forms on websites, in Chrome and Firefox (possibly others as well).
Dunno whether this has been posted before, but:

I think the way Taiga works at the moment, the frame/textbox (sorry, don't know the correct term - I'm not familiar with html or web design) in which the main content of a page (e.g. the posts of a thread) appears is overlapped by the bottom bar (i.e. the thing with page navigation and new post options on it). Consequently, when using 'Find' functions in browsers, you can't actually see the thing you've found without scrolling down, because it appears underneath the bottom bar. It would be nice if the way Taiga handles its bottom bar could be tweaked to allow Find tools to work correctly.

I was really struggling to express that clearly; I hope it makes sense.
yep, annoying. have to have a finger (or two fingers) ready to scroll a bit if the match is not visible after ctrl-g/f3. unfortunately i'm not able to imagine a fix for this like i was with new posts coming in changing the window content when scrolled up. the sticking point is that i don't know what the current match is so i can't use its position to change the scroll position. workarounds that come to mind are hiding the new post box (so the height is dramatically reduced) and temporarily switching to the iphone style.

window.getSelection();

It's a javascript function that will return the selected text as a Selection object. Google can tell you more.

Should work in every browser affected by this issue (namely Firefox).
i thought about that but is the browser actually selecting the match? it didn't seem to me like it would be good behavior to blow away the user's selection ... guess i need to look into it more.

You wouldn't have to blow it away. Just detect that it has been set. If it is set, make sure the post is visible (scroll the page down if necessary). Any browser using the DOM searching method (Firefox for instance) will put the search term in there when found (because it makes a real text highlight, instead of Chrome's CSS color highlight).
a quick search reveals this method of figuring out the position of the selection. off the top of my head i would write a passthrough handler for common "ctrl-f" keystrokes that sets a timer that fires maybe a fourth of a second later that inserts the snitch, gets the snitch's position, and makes sure that it is visible.
Exoray
When I try to move threads in IE9 I keep getting the error "human data not found".
Works properly in FF.

thanks for reporting. i don't have a machine here that is running windows 7 or enough disk space to make a new vm so i will look at it when i get home next week.
Precursor
I, uh, managed to secquence break Taiga. I was deleting my last post in a thread. No, I don't remember the exact order of events, but I believe it went like this. I hit Delete while in Edit mode. It didn't go away, so I hit Delete again. Taiga gave me an error message. I hit cancel on the edit. Then I -might- have hit delete on that post again. Then I refreshed the page. Upon reloading, I was on the first page of the thread... and my first post in the thread, which was also the first post of the entire thread since I had made it, was now gone. The thread in question being the European Marathon planning thread, which now shows mike89 as the thread creator.
Not a walrus
Maybe this was posted already but it's 51 pages and I'm not reading all of this.

If a moderator assigns a post to somebody else, the post will still show up as belonging to the old poster until you manually refresh. Edits will show up, as will the content, but the poster still shows as the previous one until you refresh. Minor thing that doesn't come up much, but thought I should mention it.
