I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Hi all,

I'm not a speedrunner, but I was pretty good in Supreme Snowboarding. Meaning that I beat all the times in the game by far, by taking hilarious shorctus and there are quite some shortcuts to make. The difficutly in taking shortcuts in this game is dat you can go outside the tracks, but must be on the track in time to pass the checkpoints (or at least close enough so that you pass the checkpoint).

I also think this game was en still is very beautiful to watch. The sound of the board against the snow and the wind is very realistic. I think it's worth a speedrun. Check link for pics: http://www.housemarque.com/supreme.htm

Has anybody tried this game yet? Is there anyone who did a speedrun for it? I didn't see it in the list and a forumsearch gave no results, so I guess not.

I preferred doing time races against a ghost rider. If you're the fastest you can race against your own ghost figure or against the computer. But I guess when it comes to speedrunning, it's probably required to be racing against coputer opponents by completing the Tournament I suppose? What are the requirements exactly for a game like this?

I quit the game because I got tired of racing against myself, but I might start again when I got some competitors with fast timings as well Smiley
Thread title:
you can upload your best replays somewhere.
if my memory is good, you can manipulate those files from the game's directories freely, import/export...
yet I don't know if a WR page exists.

for a 1999 game, the graphics are awesome. a xp patch exists (version 1035 btw). what makes that game so cool, are both the freedom you have to chose your trajectories, and the gameplay (many combination of commands to turn/draft).

this game is better known on dreamcast as Boarder Down.
I have this game (it's finnish. I have all finnish games, well, nearly), but I don't like it. It's hard to controll (for ma, that is), and everything.

some replays would be nice though.

That's just in the beginning Smiley Really, once you got the hang of the controls this game feels SO natural! I've spent quite some time going outside the game, finding different shortcuts and cool jumps; it was great.

A big help for this was the computer ghost-rider in Time-Attack mode. Those guys were probably fanatic game-testers or were part of the creators-team, because they showed awesome things that taught me plenty.

By now I am 30 years old, have a job and haven't played this game for a long time, so I'd have to practise again to make some impressive runs. But I bet I can still do it.

I'll have to find out how to record it though...I'm going to see what software works best for me; Camtasia or Fraps. After I know how to make a decent movie, I'll probably start posting runs. The most beautiful is actually the replay in this game, but I guess that's not what speedrunning is about Smiley

BTW: I don't think I'll need a patch for winXP; I think the game should run just fine without any patches. Depening (perhaps) on your videocard.

I never knew about record lap websites for this game. I'll see if I can find it.

Boarder Down... The Housemarque website only shows "Boarder Zone" as another name for the same game. I never played console games since I moved out and live on my own, so I never play console games. I do know that sequels of this game were created for console and not for pc anymore (unfortunately).
I actually found such a site.
more than that, it includes many many details including how to play under winxp, improve the game and compatibility, addons (even new levels), etc.

example : to watch a specific replay, you can use the demo version.

http://www.supreme-snowboarding.tk/

there are also (official ?) WRs with the replays (and how to use them). it just lacks the divx versions.

good luck to beat those times, they just seem too hard to me 0.o;;;

Funny, I found the same website today as well Smiley

I admit; very good times. This mk-guy even managed to get his own board with the install of the update patch!

I'm not sure if I want to try this... There's a movie on that website of his Alpine Easy run, wich isn't even his fastest time but looks nearly impossible to beat:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/nobelprizeforgames/

What a freak! I wonder if he plays other games or just this one...
yeah, this guy is a freak, scary replay.

it's rather complicated to watch replays as you want, so it'd be great if a knowledgeable encoder would make movies of every record. I wonder if software such as fraps would work with this (kinda old) game ?
even is no supreme snowboarding page was created on sda, we could still send the movies to the other site.

good luck with your eventual run Megalodon, and even if you don't match these records, I'm sure your work would be interesting to watch.

Well, Supreme Snowboarding is a beautiful game to watch, especially in replay mode. But like I said; I'm not sure if I'm gonna do it. I don't have as much free time as I used to have.

When I got a day off, I may check if I can workout that first jump he does. I already installed the game, but that first jump between the high and small rock is sick; it's so hard, you'd think it's not possible. I actually tried that exact jump before ever hearing about speedrunning or that SS website and remember I gave up on it because I thought it wasn't possible. Now I see him do that exact jump... It looks real easy, but it's not. I'd really need time to really pinpoint where exactly he starts aiming for that jump. The rest of the run of that movie looks doable to me after you get that first big jump going. Not easy; but possible.

I have no solution, but i admire the problem.

A normal run is done fore the standard game mode. I don't know this game exactly, but you had to beat certain levels to unlock others, right? Then the target would be to start the game from the beginning and eventually beat the last level. Of course you must not use a character modified in status points, tricks settings or whatsoever.

I played this game with a friend once and it was really funny. So, i'm looking forward to a run.
Heavy/Death-MeT aL 4 ever - With Full Force
hi mates...

i played supreme snowboarding since 1999 i played it much in decmeber 2000/january2001 ocz i broke my leg. Cheesy i did very good time on the "normal" track. the world record runs are kinda inazne and curios. coz often they dont use the normal track just use bugs or unrealistic paths. f.e. gliding over the ice cave Cheesy thats to heavy heavy for me ^^

imo to get a WR on this way its no more fun to play. Cheesy this game earned WR runs in a "realisticer" way Cheesy

anyway gg on WR they are still crazy ^^
Heavy/Death-MeT aL 4 ever - With Full Force
hehe crazy Cheesy

im german too Cheesy atm i have no more demos from my old runs coz of format C  :shorty:

much of my old record are from 2001/2002 i didnt played it much or at least not in 2004/2005. there and now i played much Unreal Tournament. Cheesy but i remember one of my forrest records where i jumped over the bridge into a grey snow-waste channel Cheesy

anyway may be i play later some times Cheesy ^^
if an admin ever reads this topic, I would like to know if this game would deserve a page on sda.
I suppose that, like the other racing games already featured here, there would be a table with records for each race.
then, what would be the rules for runs to be accepted ? would mk's (Michael_001) runs be directly accepted ? or should he (or other competitors...) do them in any other way ?

I know that mk's site already play this role, but it's not the first game that has already its dedicated site. I believe that such a great game as Boarder Zone/Supreme Snowboarding would deverse its place here, and it would breed more competition.

another problem is the lack of divx version of the runs, and the replay are very hard to watch (since there is no built-in replay feature in the full game).
could you do something against this, mk ? and capture them yourself ? or could anyone ?

Choose one of the original characters and boards. All possible routes are allowed, as long as you don't fall.

A new video is at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk in the "Hall of Fame".

You want to watch your own races as demo races, and create your own videos? Then you should visit www.supreme-snowboarding.tk and download the new "Demo Tracks" (0.5 MB). Follow the instruction inside.
I am new in this game, but I did Alpine Easy for 1:26:62

I mailed replay to mk so I hope I'll be in hall of fame Cheesy
I know this is out of topic.... but i was wondering if anyone of you guys knows the artists for the music in the game. I can't find nothing on the internet Sad

Hi everyone,
if you're wondering how to do videos?  I'll tell you how.
First you download the demo version from mk's site, then you put your best record on from Supreme/Data/Levels/alpine/tracks/hard/replays and copy it as Demo_Replay into SupremeDemo/Data/Levels/alpine/tracks/easy/replays.
Make sure you install the addon and only use Boarder Z.
Next you install the key and the track(Alpine Hard).
Now it's time to watch your replay(it's usually the second one after the other view.  Then you can record it with Fraps.

Hi all,

a new Special Tracks installer is at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk. I had to upload the installer twice, because of one wrong Guide Rider. The size of the correct EXE file is 19,971,963 byte. Please delete all other versions.

The track of Xinfe (in two versions) is new. The former "Mogul Slope Light" got a new name: "Mogul Slope v2".

Send me an e-mail if you want to know more about the downloads, or if you miss anything.

Hi everyone,
you can download my 1.25.47 on my site.
