Beats barely Creams time (at Mario Center), and I can't even figure why. I Long Jumped 2 to the Cloud Flower, and a 3rd one with a spin to the end + a regular jump and then longjumped back by the bridge ( I even jumped a bit away) then backflipped + cloud to the star.
I then tried to go over the fence with one of the clouds (Only need 2 to get the star) jet it lost by .3 secs.
I'm thinking going from the bridge (properly) and using the quick cloud trick should give an 18.50ish.
Anyway, I have times for all W1 for all stars, more or less good.
I finally unlocked the last version of the last stage today. I've just gotta say, congrats to the people who have survived it, fast or otherwise, and I don't envy the eventual 100% SS speedrunner.
Well at least I made it to the fourth part, with the flippable things. I've never gotten through that part without getting hit, even with restart points.
It helps a lot if you can keep a couple cloud charges for that section. You'll eventually figure out a relatively safe path once you've attempted it a few times. The last area is the real challenge.
If you jump just right you can get all 3 clouds and continue to the next area. I saved one cloud for the last part so that I could jump past the flipping things. It was still really hard. I think it took me about 70 tries by the end of it (yeah, I suck).
It did make me wonder, with the rest of the game in consideration, how an acceptable 100% SS would even be possible. From what I've been seeing so far, though, I have high expectations.
I'd also like to see what can be done with superjump in the flip-swap area of grandmaster galaxy.
I'm not sure if anyone knew this, or if it's practical, but if you spin in the air, collect a cloud flower, you can spin again without landing. Also, I found 4 hidden 1-Ups on the Rightside Down Galaxy. Use the high jump trick to skip the last part of the level, but run to each of the four corners. There is a 1-Up at each.
LOL, Someone found a really funny glitch on Grandmaster Galaxy. It will probably be impossible to replicate it, and I have now idea how he did it. There is no speed involved, but it gave me a laugh. 8)
Go to 1:30 on the vid. It's right when he launches from the launch star.
Hi everyone ! I just found a trick in Super Mario Galaxy 2 that could be useful for your speedruns. That's why I've registered on SDA. I've already found a lot of glitches/tricks in Zelda TP and SMG1, but didn't registered... So now it's done =p.

To sum up : - It allows you to longjump off the water. To do it, press Z, then swing the remote, then press A. I don't understand why shaking the remote is needed, but still it is. - The trick is pretty easy. (I prove it in the video) - It can be done with Mario and Luigi, in SMG2 and SMG1 as well. - Maybe we can perform other moves than longjumps, but I didn't find how. I see two ways to benefit from it : - Reaching the ground. It's obviously faster than any other way. - Longjumping off the water several times instead of swimming (only useful in SMG2 I think, but still I'm not sure).
Read the description on Youtube for more details ! Hoping it will be used in your speedruns !

Yay. Finally that thing I did once is explained. I had no idea what happened.
The good thing about the wiki page is anyone can edit it. It just needs to be converted to a table and have a column for whether the video can be submitted.
I'd rather have (In addition to them being on the wiki page aswell of course) it here. This way it won't require them being on video's.
Since I don't have stuff to record, but I'm more than willing to help, this way I have an easy way to contribute. Since I only have one time for Green Star 1 for Fluffy Bluff that actually beats these video's here (Other's i have in my names don't have videos if I recall)
I think sites like Cyberscore, Mario Center, etc. aren't just for people who can't record video. Trusted players who make videos, such as Packattack, can also submit times that they haven't bothered to record videos for. This can greatly speed up the process of getting a complete, competitive times chart for the whole game.
Of course, for SDA purposes, unrecorded times only give us an idea of what's possible; they're not proper substitutes for video-proven records, let alone SDA submissions.
(Sorry, lol, I know that 95% of the people here already know all this, but) Fastest-time lists without videos are great, and I know of at least three now: the Sonic Center one, the one in the SDA knowledge base, and Cyberscore. But what mikwuyma was talking about specifically is videos that are recorded in such a way that they could be submitted to SDA as individual-level speedrun videos. Personally I think adding a Mario Galaxy 2 individual-levels table to SDA would be great, and/or the same for Mario Galaxy 1 for that matter. In order to create one we'd need SDA-submittable videos (for example they can't be recorded with a video camera) of every single star, you know, preferably really fast ones
The videos definitely wouldn't all have to be by the same person. I'd love to help but so far I've recorded nothing near SDA-worthy.
Does packattack submit runs to SDA? If he hasn't, this would be a great place to start (Of course I know he already pwns Cyberscore; not sure if he wants to start working on a new site or not )
"I don't have a vid so I'm going to claim that I did it faster than you."
I'm not necessarily saying that this is what you're doing Baron, but in my experience that's what those kind of sites lead to.
Yeap, but Mario Center (Which ain't that active) has been quite legit from what I've seen. And in this case, I'm not even ttrying to get any glory here, just trying to help you guys out. If ever needed, I can take an bad photo from the time though. xD
@slowbro: I know that too. It's just that I want to help, atleast this way.
The point is, this is a website for hosting speed run videos, not just top times/scores. If you want to post your times in this thread to give others an idea of what to shoot for, that's fine, but we can't submit an IL table until we have videos for every level.
^ yes, but TMC encourages more competition which encourages people to try more across more levels, gets more people competing for the records and thus gets the record times lower which means better videos on SDA, as well as providing an easy, automated way to track the best times that have been achieved in each level. i don't see the harm in encouraging people to go there. videos can still be posted in the thread here.
It obviously helps everybody who competes in this game when people post times and/or strategies, even if they don't or can't record videos. I sure wasn't lessening the contribution of Baron Dante or anyone else
I think an IL table would be great but it is obviously far into the future. I don't want to hog this thread and only talk about possibly forming an IL table. Times and strategies even without videos are obviously more productive than anything I've posted in this thread
edit: I hope some people are recording SDA-submittable videos of this though!
