i recorded a run of smb1 with 5:09.3 seconds or so. this has the same time as the current record but it is faster by about .3-4 seconds can is sunmit this tape to you? will you be able to put it online for me?
they keep all world records. this breaks the world record... (doesnt it?)
EDIT:
Special Rules: Timer starts the instant you hit the Start button and stops the INSTANT you touch the golden axe in the final castle. Time will be recorded in WHOLE seconds ONLY.
Andrew's been keeping us at TG updated about his quest for the SMB record for a while now. He claims to have tied the record, and if he has, then he'll be the co-record holder at 5:09 once his tape is verified. Simply tying the record doesn't necessarily mean it isn't good enough; at TG, you can have any score or time verified and listed, including second-place scores, third-place times, etc. That's one of the reasons it's worth notifying TG about your accomplishments, Ekarderif.
Well, you have to make sure you aren't violating their "rules" first. For example, in TMNT, it is forbidden to eat the same pizza more than twice (by exiting and re-entering the level).
It's possible to warp with pipes into different locations. The most infamous example is using the first pipe in 4-2 to warp to the warp area, as demonstrated by the emurape.
It's very possible, just very hard, it's also possible to get 5:07, and with the wall jump probably 5:06, but I can't remember exactly how much the wall jump saves.
The alternate pipe glitch is basically a teleportation glitch, which means Radix wouldn't like it.
I think 5:08 under TG timing rules is possible, though very difficult to reach. I'm not sure about 5:07. 5:07 seems to be the time for a run that's theoretically perfect by human standards.
hey everyone! well i can get a 5:08 i mean i was only off by like .2 seconds or so. too bad i cant send in the video. i hope trevor doesnt beat me to it. if he sends in a 5:08, theres no way i will get a video of me on SDA. i think i will get a 5:08 by summer, but im not sure. a 5:08 is easily possible i just messed up on level 8-1 by one game unit. if i hadnt done that, i would have gotten a 5:08.8. also if i did 4-2 a little faster, i could get a 5:08.4. a 5:07.9 or a little more would be the perfect time by twingalaxies rules, except for one thing. if i somehow got good at that trick where youn start off the level backwards and jump forwards on level 8-3 saving 2 game units or about .8 seconds then a 5:07 is possible but highly unlikely. i did not cheat and i followed twingalaxies rules tying trevor's record. now i'm just going to make another copy of it on VHS and send one to twingalaxies and keep the other for myself. once i get a 5:08 or a 5:07, i will ask again about giving my tape to SDA, but i would have to put the VHS to DVD i guess.

You can send a tape to nate and include money and the TG form and he'll forward it to them.
i could probably just try to make a smb2 and 3 run and send it to SDA. i could probably get the smb3 record and i dopnt know if SDA would want a smb2 run, if not then i will just work on smb3 i guess.
