Speedruns - 01
Anyone interested? I think I can get a run on about 5h, did a testrun now and it ended at 7h4m, though I did lots of sidequests and picked up tons of stuff I didn't need. So I can easily make it alot shorter.

Thoughts?

*EDIT*
The runs are finished and up!

Die Meatbags Die!
Its funny that you mention this game because I am planning on running it in a few days. I am perfecting my run and I have gotten to the Unknown Planet in 3 hours and 48 minutes according to the in game clock. I plan on recording it around tuesday. I figure that I could get it under 5 hours.

Speedruns - 01
Nice nice, a little competition. Post updates here, don't know when I will be able to record, I'm having problems with lag for no apparent reason, so I'll be looking into it (running PC version).

But I guess sometime this week.

*edit*
From where you arrive at the Unknown Planet, it takes about 1h20m to finish the game, probably sub-1 if you do it good (which I didn't in the test)
Die Meatbags Die!
My run still ins't perfect. I picked up some unnecessary items on Taris. Taris was by far the hardest part. Took my an hour to beat it. THe key to my run is the massive leveling up on Korriban by repeating the sith code over and over again. I dont know if this is a legal glitch. I have read to rules and it should be legal. Can anyone verify this?
Speedruns - 01
I made a testrun on Taris today, took exactly 1h. It can be perfected to gain a couple of minutes here and there I guess.

About leveling, don't think that's really needed so much, on the 7h run the other day I ended up on level 19, without fighting that many extra battles.

What glitch is this about the sith code? Never heard of it (though I've only played this game for a week)
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I'm definately interested in this run. I was trying to think if one was even possible so I'd love to see what people come up with to beat this.

So if this game is possible, do you think part 2 is? I'm currently playing it my first time and it seems longer.
Die Meatbags Die!
You know where Yathura on Korriban asks you to betray Master Uthar? She will tell you the Sith Code. THis gives you 150 exp. You can have here keep telling you the code, though. It took me about 15 minutes to level up from level 8 to fifteen. Made things much easier, expecially against Darth Bandon and the Leviathan. I am not sure how you could go through the game in under 5 hours without leveling up really fast.
Die Meatbags Die!
The Sith Lords may be a bit harder. THe goo thing about it though is that you can make just about any character a jedi. I haven't really tested it out yet, but once I do my Kotor I run I will look inot doing a Kotor II run.
Die Meatbags Die!
By the way MNeMiC, what difficulty are you playing on? I am doing it on normal.

Die Meatbags Die!
Update:
I just beat Malak with a time of 4:48 minutes. THis can be improved upon, so I imagine I can get a time between 4:30 and 4:45. I wouldn't have thought that possible when I started. I will begin recording another run tommorow.
Also tenkiforecast
I'd watch it. Kind of character, I'd bet Soldier and Jedi Guardian, right? and then Dual-bladed, right?

I accutally used Scout and Jedi Sentinal. It seemed the most balanced to me. They get a decent amount of feats and force power. The two keys though are first, the number of skills you can get. Getting a high computer use at Taris is critical. Have to get the droids shield down and deactivate the turrets. The Jedi Sentinal is good because you get feats that make you immune from mind-affecting spells and critical hits. I am not sure if one class can run it faster than another, though. Only time will tell I guess.

FYI, I run it using the darkside path, up until the Bastila part. I find that PC, Juhani, and Jolee are more effective than PC, Bastila, and Canderous. I may be wrong though.

Hm... I haven't tried that yet. I'm planning on doing a Scout-Counselar run...

4:48, that's insane. I didn't think it'd get that low. Should be a very interesting run to see how you apply your stats and which equipment you use in different spots.

I for one hope you don't edit out the level ups so we can see the variety in the runs should a few people run this.

4:48 can definatly be improved upon. I spent WAY too much time deciding what feats and force powers to put into. I also spent way to much time in the conversations. I also did a stupid move by leveling up Canderous when I could use Carth throughout most of the game.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Are you going through on the light or dark side paths? Or are you just doing a mix?
Die Meatbags Die!
It is mostly a darkside run. Playing as a darkside character give you bonuses for your darkside powers and gets you more money as well. It is far more important to do the darkside because it is the faster route. Tatooine, Manaan, Korriban, and Kashyyyk are all faster if you do the darkside path. On Tattoine the lightside requires HK-47, who costs lots of money, is not that good, and takes longer than just killing the Sand People. At the end, though, I go lightside for the ending.
Isn't it more interesting to focus on either dark side or light side on the whole run?  Then we can have 2 different categories for the speedrun of the game, like a "dark side run" and a "light side run".

Well, this is speaking from a "viewer" perspective of course.
Die Meatbags Die!
Well there could be pure speed runs, Lightside, and Darkside runs. I think a true Darkside or Lightside run should be 100% light or Dark. There is a meter in the game that judges it. Of course there are glitches that allow you to get these bars up real quick, but that is a good idea.
Also tenkiforecast
I couldn't. I like to take my time... and I only have the PC version. and I want to use the two special color crystals. are weapons upgraded ever? Except lightsabers?

Speedruns - 01
Just finished Dantoiine and Kashyyk in another testrun, 2hrs totally now, I'll see if I can beat the 4.48 time, it'll be tough.

I'm actually playing mostly light side, though the choises wont matter much if you memorize more or less the choises of the dialogues you can just click thru most of it. What takes shitloads of time on the run is the parts where you cannot skip conversation, mostly on the ship where Carth is talking. Annoying.

I'll be doing a pure Jedi run, getting Juhani and Jolee is the first priority, though MAYBE I'll be doing the Tatooine planet before, because when you're at Kashyyk and have a rather lowlevel PC, it's pretty hard to hit the enemies which wastes alot of time, also the stupid CP characters keeps on getting stuck everywhere...

I think I'll be doing one segment for each planet if all goes well, I don't know yet really, perhaps also loading point based, I don't know yet.

Also - when will you be recording the run?

Do we have people who can verify these runs?
Die Meatbags Die!
I am probably going to begin recording tommorow. I am going to pick up a hard drive tommorow, so I will wait until then. I don't know too much about the submission process. Is there any veterans out there who can educate the newbies? Thanks in advance for any help.
Speedruns - 01
Neat neat.

3.30 now, and all that's left is the underwater base on Manaan, and then to get the special color lightsabres (might skip this part, I'll see if it's much harder without them, could save time, but could also waste more time than what you gain)

Also if it's better to skip them, then there's no point in picking anything up in the game since you won't need money for anything. So that would probably save about 5-10m or something.
Die Meatbags Die!
So you have Manaan, The Unknown Planet, and the Star Forge left? You should be able to beat that in around an hour or so. That is consistent with my time. Good Luck.
