unemployed Dragon
So i got my fingers on 'Stalker Clear Sky' and already began to look for speedrun abilities in the game

i wont run the game because of lack of realism when it comes to firing weapons onto enemies, one example:
i hit a bandit 8 times including 3 times with the PMm in the head and he survives.
It cant be that someone receives damage from 9x18mm ammo which renders someone unable to fight, and he is still running around talking weird russian crap and still shooting me - no this game sucks but we can still keep discussing ...
--------
I didnt try to record any scenes, altough my old machine handles Stalker STCS pretty good:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (So939)
2GB DDR PC3200
nVIDIA GF7600 256MB
500GB Samsung S-ATA HDD
running Windows XP
i can play in 1024x768 and use dynamic lightning all over the place, to reduce loading times i set texture quality to 2.
First i have played the 1.5.00 Version which ran quite stable, 1 Crash from the beginning 'til the end (i guess it was one of the bad endings because i didnt manage to kill strelok).
Then i patched up on 1.5.03, but this version seems to crash often plus some strings which should be clear language is only internal variable names. They have seem to messed up the translation...
Ill test 1.5.04 soon as i have more time.
i must say Stalker STCS is a very hard game, even on easiest skill level.
for example: there are some kind of "Arenas" where endless new enemies spawn (inside Limansk at 75%) - you only have to run thru', this is not always so easy.
general notes:
- if you can collect enough money you can pay people who quickly "teleport" you to your next target (next level etc.)
- later in the game, where you have to follow "Fang" into a cellar you lose all money and stuff, so first place it in the chest nearby to have it back then.
- improving own weapons is very expensive, dont waste any time repairing or improving stuff, just replace it with the plenty weapons your enemies drop after death
the only thing you may repair is some armor!
- if you let the bandits steal all your goods in the trashyard they may be neutral against you (they dont shoot you, untested!)
The first part is quite easy, you gotta speak to some people, then you got your first task: swamp
on the second part you gonna help some lone guy on his small tower to defend the area. To get there you have to dodge some anomalies and the partially radioactive water which quite slows you down even if only your footprints touch it partially.
when you reach him you quickly climb the ladder and soon another emission started which knocks your character out - again.
third part:
you find yourself back again in the clear sky base, where you have started your little adventure. Talk a bit here and there etc..
part IV: they send you back to the swamp, now you have to kick some bandit - asses to strenghten the presence of your buddies in the swamp. Those bandits can be very annoying and if you dont have enough medkits and bandages you'll die very quickly, so wiping out their pockets/backpacks is very very useful. Err yeah and some energydrinks would be useful too because your character tends to run out of stamina quickly plus energydrinks dont fill completely up your energybar. but dont worry, that stuff is lying around everywhere.
Your time for this part depends highly on your computer controlled team mates, so dont expect low times here until you found a bug to abuse.
Part V: you find yourself "back" in 'Kordon' next to the 'ol nest-o-militair guys they instantly shoot you on sight with a powerful machinegun, so run like hell and use every cover you can find. your target is the old Sidorovitsch guy in the underground you have to talk to.
thats it for now, more maybe in discussion.
So what do you think about speedrun ability in Stalker STCS.
