I did a speed run of this game as my first project. I got 99% because of a stupid glitch on Bathhouse that I had no time to rectify, on Extreme, but several issues kept me from submitting it.

They're still kicking around somewhere, but I'm unfortunately far too out of practice to try again.

If you do one great! Be warned that I will try to verify and i'll be very harsh.

Beat these times and it's all good, but through experience I know that normal is far too easy:

Lighthouse - 3:47
Cargo Ship - 8:42
Bank - 9:39
Penthouse - 10:14
Displace - 9:23
Hokkaido - 7:29
Battery - 12:12
Soeul - 13:33
Bathouse (97%) - 17:02
Kokubo Sosho - 15:34

They were 1 segment per level btw.

That may be an extreme reply but, good luck!

I did a 100% run and a 100% coop run when the game was released but didn't submit because i was too lazy and didn't have a vcr that worked at the time. I'd love to see a 100% run just to see other strats. A coop run would be nice too.

I suppose I could re-submit it, but I'm not happy with it.

I could include a list of possible improvements with each stage too.

If you really want them I'll send 'em, but someone should make better ones no problem.

I was wondering if these are 100% runs as i have only been doing pure speed runs so far.

Also are there many major differences in expert mode to normal mode(Guard IQ, no of guards, speed of guards etc. Thanks!

It's 99% overall, that's 100% on everything but Bathhouse.

Pure-speed is something I never really considered as it seems a bit too easy, not as impressive, and defeats the whole point of the game.

I also never considered anything below Expert, as it is ludicrously simple to run through brightly lit areas with armed guards and lose only a small amount of health. Besides, I may as well do Expert if it's gonna be 100% (or close :P)

I'm interested in what you are planning to do and if my input has swayed that decision. Any tactics for your pure-speed and was it on Expert?

Nah, i was going to do pure speed but probally won't now.

I have only completed the game recently on normal and was going through levels working out what to do.(My best had been lighthouse at 3:10). My run was also going to be a no alerts/no kills run as thats what i am used to(god bless the sticky shocker).

I was wondering if you still had the run you did hosted somewhere so i could see what you done. I don't want to copy you or anything but it would be nice to it.

I have the compressed versions, I can send them to you if you tell me how (crap at computers).

If you're going to do no alerts/no kills you have to get 100% too because it can be made faster anyway with pure-pure speed.

Edit: I have no problems with anything you copy. I have no intention of picking up SC:CT speedrunning again, but I would like to see the best attempt made at this game from multiple sources if need be. Just mention me in the commentary, it's nice to be noticed Wink

Wait it will actually take a bit longer since the hard drive i stored them on isn't working.

Edit: I just noticed that previous post. I thought you said 'There are...' instead of 'Are there...' for the Expert differences.

Yes. The number of guards and placements is the same, but they have better accuracy, deal more damage/you take more damge, they can see you from closer and even in pure-darkness (unless Sam is pressed against a wall), and hear you more easily.

Just for the record I would like to add that the 97% bug has happened to me in the penthouse level as well, so I think it can happen in any level.

Edit: So far the only way I have found to get past it is to delete the entire profile and restart from the very beginning.

Wow interest.

Well in that case I'm sorry but my old run is locked in a harddrive that I cannot access for the time being. I suppose it was impressive in itself but could have been much better with hindsight. If I fix the problem I might submit it, but till then you'll have to see what others do.

I did manage to get 100% Expert on the Bathhouse, but not at the time of recording...

I too am a huge Splinter Cell fan and would love to see this game speed ran(run?). I'm currently on a mission to 100% on expert with no kills, alerts, or knockouts.
