See you on the 23rd!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all, I've wanted to host a just-for-fun marathon of sorts for a while now, and this is what I've come up with.

Marathon: Speedruns from A to Z

Idea: It's simple, really. You submit a game in the form "A is for Aladdin" or "S is for Super Metroid", etc. My goal is to have one game for each letter of the alphabet. I'd also like to limit this project to 1 game per person, so we can have 26 distinct runners.

Where: We'll host it on my Twitch page, with runners streaming to alt accounts.

When: All day Saturday, November 23rd.

Schedule: The marathon will go in alphabetical order of games (from A to Z), and the tentative plan is to have the marathon begin at 9AM EST on Saturday, November 23rd. So plan on running early in the morning if you are near the beginning of the alphabet, and later in the evening if you are later in the alphabet. My goal is to keep the marathon under 24 hours in total length.

Rules: No games over 3 hours in length. Preference to games in the 30 minute to hour range, but don't let that stop you from submitting something 1-3 hours. You can submit up to 3 games, but you will at most be playing 1. I will pick one game per letter based on what is submitted. No complaints about what I choose. Smiley

Donations: There aren't any. Just video games.

Hint #1: Submitting games which start with less common letters will increase your odds of making it into the marathon.

Hint #2: Use subtitles to your advantage. If the game is known commonly as both "Super Mario World 2" and "Yoshi's Island", you can submit it as an S, or a Y, or submit it once as S and once as Y.

Thread title:
SPEEDruns not SAFEruns
Man, I wish I wasn't out of town for work during this time, would love to be involved. The one thing I would recommend is getting TheMexicanRunner involved, he is missing out on AGDQ due to his inability to leave Mexico legally. I will message him and tell him to submit some games - great idea Go1den, should be a good time!
I'm kinda hoping that someone signs up for Xenogears.

You can sign up any time between now and November 9th. I didn't mention that in a very obvious spot (it's on the sign up form itself but not this post). Sorry about that!

This type of thing would be a cool monthly event.

Signed up but I accidently typed in a wrong estimate. The correct estimate is 1:40:00 (hh:mm:ss).

Thanks again to everyone who participated! The VODs are being uploaded gradually in a playlist here (I've been having sync issues with some of the runs, but I expect to have them all up in the next week or two):
