-We'll see...

So, after a week of trial and error, my video is great now (VHScrCap + flash media encoder ftw) and I think I've finally got the audio down as well.  Only issue with that is that the mic will sound just a little weird, but I think that's better than not being able to hear the game at all.

With that in mind, I've added myself to the OP and will stream either tonight or tomorrow sometime.  Going to be all Mystic Quest - need to work on Pazuzu's Tower strategy mainly, and I may do a full practice run if I figure that out.

Kareshi TV is on, working on strategies and routes for the Legend of Zelda Extreme Challenge, 2nd Quest.

Edit: I completed the Extreme Second Quest!
The final room of Level 9 took about two hours, though (the last Patra room.)

@Darkwing Duck - I beat him about ten minutes after you left.

So it looks like I'll be streaming some Mystic Quest in a bit!  Some testing, and maybe a full practice run if that goes well.

EDIT: Streaming now!

I can honestly say that made my night. Um, him beating it, not you leaving.
I'm doing the Extreme Second Quest again, from the top, testing out my new route plan.

Alright guys, Mystic Quest RTA (w/ save/load abuse to manipulate the glitch) is on tonight!  Stream should begin between 9-9:30.

I just wanna get a good-looking run of this game up so I can go back to Castlevania, really.
Waiting hurts my soul...

actually no!  it's EST, the part of ohio i live in is like borderline east coast anyway so yeah.

miiiiiight stream late tonight, and it would be nothing but CV3 because god damn i need to learn that game again
I'm doing Zelda II. I can not speedrun this game for anything so I'm just casually beating it. I do know where to go and what to do though, so it's not like I'll be wandering around lost. Just, probably dying a lot.

Alright, I am for sure streaming CV3 tonight here!  Maybe half an hour or so...

Mainly, I'll be testing some boss strategies with Grant & Alucard that could save me a lot of time on character switching if they work.  If everything goes like it should, I'll be using Grant on like 3/4 of the bosses. =)  Might also attempt a full Sypha run since that's the only one I feel confident in right now.

I'm about to stream some Double Dragon 3 action right now and possibly a Vagrant Story SS afterward.  I usually use ustream but the audio wasn't working for whatever reason.

I'll probably wind up playing for like about an hour maybe.  I apologize ahead of time for the glare since i'm using a laptop.  I stream once in a blue moon so don't expect this to be a routine thing.

Streaming CV3 again in a couple minutes, going for full Sypha run this time, might do some more Grant stuff afterward (improving a LOT with him!).  Check the sig for the link. =)

Hey guys.  I'm posting because I tried to stream my playthrough of Fallout 3 for a few of my friends, but we noticed that after a few minutes, the stream would always start to skip every few seconds.  The frame would pause for a second or two, and then it'd jump back to where I currently was, then freeze again, then jump back, etc.  Needless to say, it was not tolerable.  We tried a few other sites, but Ustream is the only one with decent quality and a consistent framerate, from what we've experienced, aside from this skipping issue.  It seems that these kinds of skips aren't the norm.

Now, do you think this has anything to do with the fact that I'm using a Canon HV20 Camcorder to record and stream instead of like a webcam?  I have a firewire cable and port installed, but my PC is kind of old, so is THIS the cause?  The weird thing is that the local feed is perfectly clear and perfectly fluid, and in good resolution, but the server feed is the one that skips.  And lately, I have noticed that my PC is having trouble playing online video for long periods of time without eventually also resorting to a similar kind of skipping.  If I download the video, it's fine.  This only started a couple months ago.  It has like 112 mb of rom, with 53 mb unused, so I don't know why it's happening.  Is the processor burnt out or something?  (I'm no tech wiz)  I increased the virtual memory paging file to 1.5 times the amount of RAM i have (I have about 1.5 GB), but that hasn't apparently done anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I don't know why it would be an uploading problem... torrents typically reach around 200 kb/s I think, when I actually permit unlimited upload bandwith.  [EDIT:  Just did an upload test: 243 KB/s] Is it the quality output of the camera?

One idea I had was to try and feed from my LAPTOP instead, which is a practically new Acer 6930.  I'd have to get an ... something other than a USB cable? I don't know what I would need to stream video through it, but if it is a problem with my old computer, then I was hoping this would fix it.

I'm sorry to take up so much space with an annoying tech problem.  My friends have been talking to some people from Ustream, so I thought I would check with you guys to see if you have had any similar problems or have found solutions.  I'd appreciate any help you can offer.  Thanks.
It's time for some HEErooooOOOOHi cs!
Oh wow, thanks for putting me in this thread guys!

I don't really have a definite schedule for anything, but if it helps I usually stream around the afternoon or in the evenings. I may be working on Battle Kid soon after I get a bit more solid at La-Mulana, possibly may start working on a Metroid any% as well.
My name is unpronounceable
I have a suggestion to all the streamers.  Do you mind letting us know what time zone you are referring to when you post your normal streaming times.  I've tried to follow a few people from other sites, and it can get annoying when someone says 8:00 and then finding out that it was 8:00 Eastern time rather than Pacific time.
The Speedrunning Teacher
Quick question for anyone who's streamed:

Do you use a regular webcam or something else when streaming?  I'm wondering if my little webcam would work for streaming on ustream or not.
Everything's better with Magitek
I just use a webcam when I stream.  It's not the best quality by any means, but it works.
I want off the ride....
I originally used a webcam, it requires messing with your tV a bit to get a good picture. I'd suggest using a light room such that the camera doesn't go through shock phases. But if you are a glutton for clearer pictures, darker rooms can do taht (i think).

Now I use a dazzle. it works like a charm, that is all.
