A Sinister Figure, Cowled Like A Monk...
Hi,

I wrote a whole big message and it was not accpeted so here is the slimmed down version.

I like watching the speedruns. stop.
I like streaming films to my work from home so that i can watch them without having to upload the whole movie to my work. stop.

Would other people like to watch streaming speedruns without having to download them all or be able to watch them at work. stop.

I would use peercast to stream them, this is a p2p streaming server. bandwidth would no be an issue as i would not be streaminig to everyone who is watching. Just like other p2p software we all share our bandwidth with each other, i would stream at 120kbps (12 kilobytes per second) so bandwidth sharing for other people who be pretty minimal. stop.

anyway let me know if peeps would be interested.
It would be like ww.kohina.com (old school console music) but for speedruns. stop.

so its time for this message to stop.stop.
cheers

mike

p.s the stop bit is reference to the old system of a telegraph as parodied in "the 3 amigo's"

Just realised how wanky this post sounded.

Basically im trying to see if there would be any interest in streaming speedruns.

I'll set up a stream and post it here, that way people can see it for themselves.

Once again apologies for the wanky first post.

mike
I think 120 kbps is a bit low for video Huh?

Here is a sample link to a stream.

go to winamp and get the latest player.
then go to peercast and download either the winamp plugin or the windows file ( i prefer the windows one its more configurable )

after doing this click on this link

http://yp.peercast.org/?find=speedrun

and click the play button winamp should open and begin to play the stream.

Im using the vp6 codec so the quality is actually quite good. see for yourself.
