Speedrun blockage.

Did it happen to you before? You wanna do a speedrun but since Radix didn't play it you trash the idea...
I understand Radix at 100% but I just wan't to know if I was the only one.

Since my copy of Symphony of the night never came to me, I wanted to do a Shadow of Rome run but I asked Radix and he never played a single ps2 game Sad

I gotta find something else Grin

Wait, so because he would have to get a verifier to verify the run, you just say screw it instead? The verification system works quite well. The only game I've seen so far that, despite being known well, took a while to get verified was Tomb Raider II.

I'm sure Symphony of the Night would get verified. Wink

Yes, but with the current situation only games Radix has played are accepted. At least thats what the yellow text in the submission page says.

If Radix has never played a PS2 game, then how come we have a PS2 category? The only thing that happens with a game he hasn't played before is that he'll get a second or third or however many verifiers he needs to confirm the quality of the run in both a gameplay, audio and visual sense, ask questions about how the game should be categorized if it's a toughie and get help with timing the more difficult games.

Hell, I was the one who verified all three Legend of Mana runs (Though I couldn't give the thumbs up for the Juni storyline since I've played it only a few times), the recent Donkey Kong Country 2 run (A game that Radix has played in the past so even if he's familiar with a game he doesn't always verify them himself) Tri-Hex's Crash Bandicoot 2 run that didn't get accepted, Mafia, and I think a few others. Just because Radix has never played the game doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, it just means that he may have to find a third person to verify it (And if the game is unheard of or was just not popular, only then can it be an issue).

So go ahead, do whatever you want, just make sure that if it's a relatively unknown game to go ahead and make a forum post to see if there is an audience for the run (And among them, someone who would be qualified to verify the run).

For the time being. I was told that Nate's gonna get a flood of videos soon including my DMC3 RG run which Radix told me to send it out a few weeks down the road (He's given me a specific date and all). Not saying that the limitation is going to be lifted, but it's looking good.

If Radix has never played a PS2 game, then how come we have a PS2 category? hm... read again what i posted lol...

Radix played symphony of the night I just didn'T get my copy yet because of hmm.. ebay problems.

Oh and yes I did a BG2 speedrun and it was posted after 2 months or so.. Well I will do my best.

The only time the 'only games radix is interested' clause applies is if the game isn't already listed/run.

I thought the bigger issue limiting submissions now was things from Nate's end, rather than Radix's stress. At least that's what I understood when I tried to contact Radix recently.

In fact, issues with Nate are the reason two of my runs are still waiting to be mailed.

Anyway, I'm no stranger to the unfamiliarity thing (as anyone who's been around longer than I have is likely have heard), and in fact it may come up again with me, since I'm not sure if anyone who posted in the thread about my upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist 2 run has actually completed the game themselves (and I can pretty much guarantee that Radix has NOT played the game).

I don't really care if radix played the game or not, i'd still do a run of it if i want to do one. There is a run he rejected from me, but i still took my time and made it as good as i can.

Well, since that when i asked if you would take my trespasser run or not, and you said you were taking only games you were interested in, i assumed you didn't play it (also since it's not such a popular game). Sorry for the confusion.
