MGS for PS1 forever.
For several months whenever I went to ign.com it would do all of these funky things...it looked like pops ups...but it was trying to load all of the graphics, scrolling and whatnot. It was strange because I knew I had quicktime, but the quicktime stuff still didn't work. So, finally I just went ahead and deleted itunes. I figured that if quicktime wasn't working (and I hadn't used itunes for awhile) that I might as well get rid of itunes. Surprisingly ign.com started working again.

Is there a specific reason for this?

I don't know... in this land of strange bugs and glitches, I think it's best to rejoice that it's working now. Smiley

Damn quicktime/real/aim and all the other pieces of crap that install other crap and advertising programs.  Thank god for quicktime/real alternative and aim ad hack.

iTunes is silly anyways. Good to have it off your system.
funny, i never see any ads due to quicktime.

I've never heard of quicktime being adware either.

Quicktime has never had issues on my machine, never had ads either.

Well, it applies mostly to aim and real at least.  But quicktime also goes in that category for me because it forces you to install ram eating itunes.  It is, in fact, advertising because it's promoting the use of icrap based products.
itunes doesn't eat any ram if you never start it up.
