Eventually I want to try out how fast a thief can be. With the ability to stunlock it could be interesting. I also have yet to beat the game so I dunno what else thief can do. Is there a wiki to look up class info?

Alright well with some more routing and a much better overall execution I have cut my time down by a whole 13 minutes! First one to hit sub 1:50 Huzzah!

http://www.twitch.tv/ryuken1315/c/3845781
Now I have a question do people start timing as you hit new game or do you start after you finish making your character?
I've basically finished routing my Warrior run, I'm not too sure on the time but I end up dealing around 9,5k damage a turn. I'll probably start streaming it when I get back from my granparents.

One question, I assume we're not using DLC for the runs, but maybe DLC content could be another type of run. the Holy Defender's robe DLC Makes the warrior's early game on pace with the wizards.

Quote from 2bitmarksman:
Just finished the game today on hardcore. The jew classes plagues of egypt or whatever is nuts. Sweet ass katana from Jimbo's store is the best melee weapon if anyone is curious with the right patches.

Gonna start derping around with other classes and try to run this I suppose.

Just to point out. The Sweet katana is the best weapon if you're not stacking armour.

As far as I can tell the strongest weapon in the game when stacking is the Warriors weapon you get after Chef.

It does around the same base damage as the katana, a little lower. but deals 5x your armour on basic attacks. At that point of the game you can have around 357 armour. so you deal an extra (357 x 5 = 1785) damage per normal attack. Using this tactic on kenny and shredding him only once with bullrush and using the 1 extra attack patch. I was able to hit around 3200k per swing.

So as far as it goes that's the "best" weapon in the game
=
Although there are a few things I'd like to test in respect to other weapons. The Fairy Blade you can buy from the girls bypasses armour and shields, while you get it late enough to not really matter about the shields bypassing armour seems tempting athough I think you get it to late into the run for it to be useful, on a Mage using it with bleed could be an option., aswell as using it with the +% perfect attack and added weapon damage patches but that's all theory.

I'm gonna do another chill run before i get back and start streaming so I'll update this with my time. Inb4 I get 1:30 with no recording >.<

Black Screen after killing criag seems to be just with kyle, just swap characters afterwards and it's fine. Almost 1 buddy cycled Kenny by spamming Ikes also, 10k short at the end from bad PP management.

Doesn't look like you need to swap buddies do the events when Kenny tries to force you to.

Ate the extra spicy banana
Finished a run on normal with the warrior class with 2:58:xx. I can honestly say the warrior class's abilities blow in comparion to the jew classes. Jew jitsu is a far more reliable stun in the early game and the final jew ability wrecks everything.

I did notice that the final weapon the warrior class gets could be decent, but you'll get more time to use the sweet ass katana and only the warrior has access to that particular weapon (and as I just stated, the warrior's abilities suck ass).

Got the jist of the route I'm going to be doing this time around at least.

Time to have a muck about with the mage this time :3
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Alright just threw down a 1:43:44. Culmination of my best splits are 1:42:52 with still some mistakes so I want to say 1:42:xx is going to be optimal with my current route. I'm going to keep looking into more mage strats but I'm also thinking about doing some routing with the jew class as well

get PC anything, because PC anything is fastest no matter what.

^this.  if your pc is semi-decent everything should run faster on pc, so that's why i assumed it might be a question of controller preference/optimization.  admittedly sometimes different versions have glitches that may cause one system to be better than another, too, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case with this game.
watched the 1:43 run.  in general i'm gonna take you word for most of the routing decisions, but i wanted to point out that taking a hit seems almost always faster than a counter (as is status effect damage, especially if an enemy is stunned).  i also wondered about a couple of things on the alien ship.  with save states can you actually pass the super fast simon game?  do the victory conditions for the fight with the pilots mandate taking out the shield generator or could you kill the pilots without attacking it (i'm guessing this adds an additional round anyway so it's probably moot, just asking)?  and is there a reason you kill the pilot first?  it strikes me killing the co-pilot first is faster so to skip the promotion animation.
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Alright to answer your questions:

1. Yeah other than the few times I counter to guarantee a kill I'm trying to break myself of the habit of always blocking

2. No you cant pass the game, it doesnt allow simultaneous button presses so there is no way to finish the simon game at all.

3&4. You HAVE to kill the Matrix. The Defense boost it gives to the pilots is just far too good. And I kill the Pilot first because if I dont he does the Photon Torpedo move twice before I can kill him and that animation is longer than the "Make It So" animation. I've tested both and killing the pilot is about 5 seconds faster

And I was able to get a 1:41 today with some tighter gameplay but there isnt a ton different from my 1:43 other than fewer mistakes. And instead of moving to routing a different class I think I am going to start routing 100% instead.
Yeah, there ought to be multiple categories for different classes, maybe, if there are huge differences in how the fights play out. Haven't played anything but Mage so far since I'm trying to record a walkthrough.

It also seems any censored version of the game will actually be best for speedrunning, because the Simon sections on the alien spaceship and the "abortion" are unskippable QTEs in the uncensored version. The censors themselves are skippable though. I think the crying koala was actually a lot funnier than the vicious anal penetration anyway.

There's gotta be a way to QK the Alien Defense Matrix too. Taking out most of the aliens outside of battle is pretty much going to be faster than spamming Dragon's Breath.

Also, stocking up on coffee during Hot Coffee is pretty much a necessity for certain forced mobs you can't beat outside of battle. One of the biggest things about the combat in this game is that there aren't many variables in the stats, so things like missing never happen... You just have to know what attack to use in a specific situation to deal maximum damage output, thus (probably nearly) every fight turns out largely the same as long as your timing doesn't suck.

Getting one of the aliens at low HP with the defense matrix taken out causes the other to run away, I've noticed... The one on top. That's not "Make It So", is it?
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Yeah it is, its the second part of it. The first part when the Pilot runs away I cant remember the name of but then when the Co-Pilot puts on the pilot hat THAT is Make it so
What's your strat for that fight? I've been trying to use the battery thing, but it's so weak... unless you have a specific upgrade route you're using?
Also, where do you suppose the best place to use Mr. Slave during the first day is? I'm thinking it might be best to get Mr. Slave during Hot Coffee and use him for the Elf Anti-mage or the Elf mob in Jimmy's basement, because both of those fights take a lot of turns to beat.

In my Any% I dont pick up any summons at all. I three turn the Alien Pilot battle. I make sure my Dragons Breath is maxed out before the fight, equip all of my mage gear, have the Brain Food and Pyromaniac Perk and put on the Bubblegum Badge gotten from the elite hall monitor before Craig.

Battle goes as such:

Speed Potion+Power Attack+Power Attack on Matrix (Kills Matrix)
Speed Potion+DB+DB on the Pilot (Pilot Runs away)
Speed Potion+DB+DB on the Co-Pilot (Kills Co-Pilot)

Three turn kill 100% of the time, very risky though if you miss a couple blocks you WILL die

EDIT: You also have to have the probe for power attacks to kill the Matrix
I'll time out Mr. Slave for you really quick, because looking at the fight in your run, I'm almost 100% certain it'll save time since it's barely out of the way. Gimme about 15 minutes or so.
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Awesome, thanks Carc I really appreciate it.

OK so this is what I got:

summon animation (from menu selection to end of fight): 23 seconds
in and out of the post office (along the route, loads included): 15 seconds
deviation (lol) from park to Mr. Slave's house (thanks to conveniently placed checkpoint): 33 seconds

total to get summon: 48 seconds
overall time differentials: 1:11
your Anti-Mage fight (from initial menu selection to end of fight): around 1:12

Almost the same, but keep in mind I did all of these in one take, with no practice beforehand. My keyboard is a cheap bluetooth for the tablet I've been playing the game on, so there was about a 2 seconds of error since it dropped inputs and my character didn't begin running immediately in the post office. Hope this helps!

EDIT: specifying Anti-Mage. If you have any other fights on Day 1 or Day 2 that exceed 1:12 from the menu at New Kid's first turn, it'll definitely save more time. There's plenty of forced battles in this game where summons can be used.
I managed to get Kyle 2 turns which skips the windblower QTE using sucker punch + brainfood + pyromanic perc.

Turn 1:
DB
(Kick the baby)
Turn 2:
Speed Pot + DB + DB.

This saves a bit of time if your on keyboard since the mash type QTE's (atleast for me on Keyboard).
Here's a VOD of me doing Kyle in 2 turns.

http://www.twitch.tv/tehphen/c/3851930

Fight starts at 0:38.
I still haven't gotten an actual recorded run yet due to me having an MSI Laptop that decided it wants to run at 95 degrees while recording + playing... >.<

For classes, I don't think there's That much of a difference, infact I think warrior optimized could be faster I just need to actually complete a run, but to be fair in other games where you can pick a class there are separate categories so who knows.

Also I need to play around a little with it but I'm pretty sure I can One Turn the alien defence matrix as a warrior, I'm missing around 18 damage to 1 turn kill it, So I'll test some things out and get back with this. Not that it helps out a mage runthrough.

Can I have a couple of you guys do me a favor possibly? I have found out that between ZanderGoth's route and myself they are nearly identical. HOWEVER as soon as you assault the school for your faction of choice he starts out damaging me by around 15-25%. There are no extra perks taken that could account for this that I can see. For anyone who has watched (or wants to watch) my route can you follow it and see what your damage output is at that point? Mainly the fact of can you one turn leafblower kyle? Zander can and somehow I have to use two turns every single time

EDIT: Also Carc thanks for timing that out for me, I am going to start timing all of my battles from here on out to see where it might save time. I know I can go one attack faster on the Anti-Mage so I dont think it will save time there but there is a definite possibility that it will save time somewhere else
I don't know how much time this saves, but it ends the fight in one fireblast.

The lamp kill by cartman in Jimmy's house you can kill the elf that normally lives a fireblast with the lamp.

http://www.twitch.tv/tehphen/c/3852227

Its a bit difficult to do. But the idea is you gotta position yourself exactly on that tile.  I use the top right of the door frame as positioning on where to shoot.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I had to walk in/out of the cartman room once to get the second elf to move faster.

@Ryuken: I'll take a look for you. I know at the school assault I also have the 10% ability badge from mackey.

I know certain equipment pieces are glitchy, like the throwing knife stacks two bleeds instead of one. This may be some equipment gltiches that account for that 15-25%. I'll take a look at yours + zanders run to see what's up.
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Phen yeah Zander seems to get that trick fairly regularly, I've gotten it once or twice but never knew how to replicate it. It would for sure save a second or two if I can do it consistently.

And as far as the ability patch goes yeah I grab that after breaking into the taco bell and make sure to equip that immediately. Im doing some more routing and testing right now to see if I can narrow down what is going on because its costing me over two minutes throughout the last half of the game
I run into the same problem ryuken I always end up about 300hp short of a quick kill and not sure where the difference lies.
