Has anyone routed a 100% run yet? And what exactly would be required of a 100%? The quests don't seem to be recorded under collectables, just the items for quests, so would completing all quests be necessary? I was thinking of just attempting to route an all friends run instead since the goal is more obvious than a 100%.
I haven't even thought about it, but All Collectables isnt the same as 1005. I mean it's hard on a game with no % counter (I don't believe there's one, never looked) but if you want to define it, I guess true 100% would be All Quests/friends/collectables/equipment so.
Yeah I guess 100% is more straightforward than I originally thought, now that I think of it every quest is a part of gaining a friend, so quests completed is essentially tracked the same as the friends list, which is what confused me about 100% at first since completed quests isn't listed in collectables.
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
Vicodinin I am down for a race tonight for sure! I'm off today so im home and able whenever. and Phantaxx for 100% its everything under the colletions tab, the only hangup being that when you get the option to kill or spare the bishop one choice gives you a weapon and the other a friend. So technically its not possible to get EVERYTHING in one run but I still feel that you need to pick up everything possible in one run for 100%
All friends and collectables is something that's Countable, where as all equipment doesn't have a counter. So maybe it's best to keep is as All Friends/Collectables for sake of ease.
I'm the man.......nothing else needs to be said
All equipment does have a counter though, its still under the collections tab and fills in each piece as you get it
A race tonight sounds awesome. Also I've been slowly working on Thief (sucking majorly) and I'm thinking it could be decent but right now early on I take a trip to get the Friar's cap for the extra PP. At about the time you fight the anti-mage I run out of PP and just lose a ton of time. Either then that it is possible to two cycle Butters and all that jazz.
The only two things that could count for 100% is either all friends or all equipment. To get all friends you have to get all chinpokemon anyway and finish all quests so those are related but you can miss equipment in certain battles.

Also I may or may not join the race tonight, I've only tried routing/running jew so far so it really depends on how the race is set up.

Oops forgot to log-in before posting my last comment.

Just to expand on that...a true 100% would be all equipment and all friends, but you could have seperate categories for all friends, all equipment, all chinpokemon, etc etc.

If you wanted to get crazy you could start doing bingos with things like find only these chimpokemon, get certain friends, finish certain side quests, use certain summon in specific battle, etc etc

I'm thinking all friends will be a better category than 100% both because of how not everything is actually possible to obtain at the same time, and because getting most of the extra equipment is just a matter of looting a bunch of bodies and containers, and buying everything from vendors, which doesn't really change the route at all (compared to all friends), so it would be more tedious than anything.
Just call it all friends% if that's all you're going to get. Leave 100% to the crazies if it actually is a crazy category to run.
Yeah I don't mean all friends should be the 100%, just that 100% seems excessive so I'll probably be doing all friends instead.

do you guys know how to be able to split without having to alt+tab from the game? there is no windowed borderless which means if I alt+tab it pauses the game. I'm using llanfair, always on top is checked, and hotkeys are working, just not when the game is checked.
I ran into that issue with llanfair as well, I ended up switching to W-Split and it works fine with that timer.
You can use a program called GameCompanion to make it borderless windowed, I use it for a lot of games and SP is no exception.

I used to use another program which had support for controllers, and it never used to split if It wasn't selected unless I used the controller hotkeys, which worked fine for a few casual runs but I ended up switching to WSplit when it got to annoying to manage splitting on the controller.
Good to know about that program. I was playing in windowed mode on my laptop and that top bar was just taking up so much room when in regular windowed mode.

Hold the fuckin' presses guys, I got something for you!

So, you guys know there was an uncensor patch that some dude in Australia made for his version of the game, right? I just got my buddy Adzicents, who happens to be Australian, to go through his copy of the game and send me the same files from his copy of the game that the patch uncensors.

http://www.speedyshare.com/4vxkf/sotaus.zip

Guess what happens, guys? We get Crying Koalas, Didgeridoos, AND us Americans get to skip the QTEs with legit game code. Dunno how valid it is for SDA submission yet (we're still swapping files, but they're legit files from another region of the game), but fuck yeah, reverse uncensorship! All we need to do is test this and make sure it plays exactly like the Australian version of the game and we should be good to go.

What the mod does is replace specific regional videos and data. The way the game engine works for the cutscenes is (as I suspected) the cutscenes are all prerendered and the New Kid is just laid on top of them.

EDIT: Make sure you cut your data_archive_uncensored.oaf file from the directory beforehand. Anytime you want to remove the mod, I would guess you could just reinstall the whole game.
^ Actually, what the hell am I thinking, you don't have to reinstall the whole game lol just install the uncensor patch

I think so far we've agreed to keep them separate categories for the runs, but personally I'd be more then happy to cut the QTE's and things...

Edit : Also if you'd be so kind as to upload it to mediafire, speedyshare makes you use their download manager and stuff... it's really annoying.
what, no it doesn't, click the link that says sotaus.zip, it's at the top of the screen

but i mean, now that anyone can play with the censorship on, why make two separate PC categories?

Probably because not everyone feels comfortable downloading a random patch from a site on the internet?

Some might get a kick out of it being censored... or some might worry about what happens if a legit version patch is released and if this patch will affect anything or require a new uncensor patch that will require even more tinkering.

Not that it would be a big deal for people serious about running this... but it also gets into muddy waters if someone somewhere down the wire makes a re-tweak for a new version patch to uncensor and makes a slight after modification that may subtly affect things that may not be realized further down the road?

Doubtful... but it can't be ignored. [Not that someone couldn't try that already with an uncensored patch and claim it was an undocumented fix in a version upgrade.
In an attempt to learn this game more efficiently, I decided to write a step by step guide to the Any % route that has been developed so far. I hope this can serve as a good starting point for others as well, and can be something that we can keep building upon as we optimize the game.

You realize that this isn't an UNCENSOR patch and is actually a CENSOR patch, right? Did you actually read the post, Mr. TwinGalaxies? This 'patch', if you can call it that, uses only unbroken event data from the Australian version of the game and is not an .exe. In layman's terms, this is literally the censored code from the Australian version of the game, and it is from a part of the game that is completely debugged. This pack of files, only 11MB in size, turns the game into the Australian version of the game. Look, I'll rehost it on Mega or something since I think a bunch of you are accidentally downloading the (obviously sketchy) .exe at the bottom of the page. I just took the link directly from Adzicents since he's the one who chose this host for the files.

https://mega.co.nz/#!LkA32Cib!bptZU6W4fLU59ma6wBKLr9Pw6dshqV2pfl7YdDJjQ8s

There. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bunch of reprinted Donkey Kong PCBs to hand out to some schoolteachers somewhere.

The set of files is only event data from the Australian version of the game. That is, there is ONLY Bink movie files (go download a Bink Video Player that reads .bk2 files) and certain code that is scripted to play specific audio throughout said Bink movies, as well as whatever data that makes the New Kid character model (who is overlaid over these displayed high-res .bk2 files) act as if he wasn't part of the prerendered cutscenes.

The events in question (which are all QTEs btw) are either triggered "on" or "off" by loading one of two event data files recognized by the game engine, data_archive_uncensored.oaf and data_archive_censored.oaf. If the game got patched, I'm pretty certain that the developers are going to ignore unbroken data within censored content.
