I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
So I began recording segment three today, which was planned to be pumpkin hill and mission street. I got an amazing pumpkin hill, and failed on mission street. Not content to lose that pumpkin hill, I decided I would do mission street and pumpkin hill in individual segments, to keep the pumpkin hill.

However, in my failed mission street run, I collected hover. When you collect an upgrade in this game, the game autosaves.

in other words, I deleted the file that started at pumpkin hill, and my "new" file has hover. already. even though I'm not supposed to have played mission street yet.

Long story short: Either I pansy out and quit, or restart from the very beginning.

EDIT:

I found my old segment 1 file, so I was able to continue from segment 2. After many hours of painfully trying to recreate my old segment 2 (with several seconds now able to be saved in the non-hunting portion), I've decided to make each hunting m1/m4 its individual segment, so I don't have to throw away the 1/60 times I actually get a good hunting run. As such, I've recorded an 18.65 wc1, and am moving on to the action level portions of my old segment 2, which is now segment 3.

Segment 2

Interestingly enough, did all three emeralds blind, in what was my fastest and luckiest layout that i've gotten in hours of practicing.
100%? Wow, this is ambitious.

As for the issue of saves, if you have a Wii and the Homebrew Channel installed (install with Bannerbomb), I'd recommend the Gamecube Memory Manager, AKA GCMM. It's quite helpful for managing saves when you have to do a lot of scumming or testing specific levels when there are a lot them (AKA 180 of them).
The Running Failure
This run is very good from what has been showed so far. It's already beaten the times of the SS levels. Considering that it's just the first two levels, that's pretty impressive. I wish you some luck with this.

Potential Segment 3

This segment saves ~15 seconds over the levels in my previous attempt. Ten of these are in prison lane, 7 in metal harbor, and a couple seconds are lost on the bosses.

My green forest time is fine, a 1:51 is very respectable considering the times I've gotten on this level. However, the video itself is much less pleasurable. There are a lot of random factors in this level (flying off hills, whether or not I lose all momentum on that DAMN MUSHROOM), and every one seemed to go wrong. However, the rest of the segment was so good, and took so long to achieve (about 7 hours), that I don't really want to throw this segment away. What do you guys all think? Is this disgusting display in green forest as bad as I am making it sound? Do I keep or redo?

welcome to the machine
Sorry, but I think you should definitely redo.
Visually Appealing
hmm, i say redo as well. Green Forest was pretty icky. Prison Lane too looked pretty improvable. getting hit right after getting the barrier stinks.
I doubt that this will suddenly get easier, and I don't want to see you stuck at such an early part of the run for so long.  Therefore, I say either keep, or split up the segment into two and redo it that way.

I'm actually not quite sure that prison lane is that improvable. I got hit, sure, but the time loss was extremely negligible.

Metal harbor was at least a second better than I'd ever had before.

Green forest, despite the fact that I've given it such a bad label as completely disgusting, really wasn't all that slow either. We're talking about what was probably a 3 second loss.

Not to discredit your guys' opinions, but I felt that I should clarify as much.
