Those were all just casual runs. Paraxade did a test run and got 6:23, and that was without BiT. With BiT, it can probably be done in less than 6 hours with just the things that have already been found.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
It's impossible to break the wii, or the game. However there is a chance of losing a save file so just back it up.
This game is longer then I thought. I'm still hoping that this game is beatable within 5 hours but not sure if that's even possible.

I personally still think we're all going to be very surprised at how fast this game can be done with BiT.  I wouldn't be surprised if by this time next year, we have a sub-6 run on the site, with people already working on a much faster version.

Without BIT 6:23:20 and it was a test run.
So close, but still far to go.
So there are alot more than me who is playing Skyward sword at the time. Anyone got a good time exept the one running the test run?
Parax is running tonight on his jstream:

Hey, so yesterday I finished a 5:39 SS w/ resets. Just submitted it to SDA so it'll be up for verification soon. Also encoding it so I'll link it in here when it's up on YouTube (will be a few days).

I watched it back at 1.5x speed this morning and all the real noticeable mistakes add up to about 4:38 lost, which isn't bad for a 6-hour run.
Make it so.
Nice Paraxade! Congrats!
Pheenoh the mean-o
4 minutes, 38 seconds of mistakes in a 5 hour, 39 minute, 57 second run = 1.36% mistakes. More than acceptable.

Also, it's up for verification.
Angered Me, You have!
Seriously Paraxade, you should be in hall of fame. It's astounding that you can memorize the route in one sitting för almost 6 hours (!), perform various timesavers and lose only about 5 minutes of time in this huge run. Hall of fame once again.
Any of these single-segment long-sitting runs always amaze me. You people have iron bladders. Beautiful work!
Just wondering, will this show up here on SDA soon?

I saw a couple of videos showing Link scaling vertical walls a little higher than usual, but no one really said how it works, or how to do it. Anyone care to explain?

It's mostly just the angel you run up it on. A perfect example is when your finding those Kikwi and you need to jump into that hole. Right before the hole, there are two ledges that Link must grab to climb. If you run up the ledge right in the corner of the wall and the small ledge, he'll run up it instead of grabbing and climbing. It saves like a second.

I hear the verification is done, so hopefully Flip will post that in the next batch and then we just have to wait for it to actually go up which could be a few more months.
hey guys, this thread is a little dead, but I just started working on Skyward Sword segmented. I'm running Japanese, I'm also doing rta on the weekends, but feel free to check out my progress on segmented Smiley

I try to avoid double posting, but I feel this deserves a bump.

Just set a new any% world record, 5:39:26. Exactly 30 seconds faster than parax, gonna try to beat it by a couple minutes. Unfortunately amarectv is terrible and crashed in the middle of the run, so all I have is the twitch recording. But feel free to check it out if you'd like

Is anyone still working on a segmented and single segment run of this lovely game?
umm, look at the two posts right above yours?
Angered Me, You have!
No update since then. Besides, my question was directed to anyone working on Skyward Sword.
Currently, I'm working on a segmented run, you can check that progress out here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3rPoMu6dDhT0UklmW_qOj77mHrB-Yxdf&feature=mh_lolz

Testrunner and I are both working on JPN RTA. I  want to improve my japanese WR by a little bit.

Hey guys, once again bumping this thread. Last night I got a new world record of 5:34:08, I think I'm probably gonna submit it, I don't think I can beat it. Anyway, I'm encoding it now, gonna do commentary on it as well I think.
