Mmm, when you save the game while you are interacting with a object or character, you can make a Secret World when you load this same game. Perhaps this can replace the Wall Clip Glitch in some places. Maybe this glitch can be improved and get a new super glitch.

I don´t know, but I´ll investigate it these days.

WOW.
I need to warn everyone that if they still want to keep an optimal speedrunning game, then you sould not update the latest version, 1.6. They have changed the physics of items you pick up meaning placing bowls and platters on walls was is quite literally impossible. I know on Xbox you can revert the update back if you have already done it, not sure about other platforms though. [Reverting back of Xbox corrupts all your save data]. It does not corrupt you data in the end, all you need to do is to start a new game and then load your old saves from within that new game.

Also, I have actually started to record my runs with my new dazzle. I'm looking at sub 1.20 for an optimal run.

I've found an exploit that could work on most places you're supposed to go to. I actually havn't cleared the main quest myself yet but here's a video I did of a possible exploit. I did this on pc but it should be possible on all versions:

Faster with a horse Cheesy My personal best is 2:14:16 single segment (console + Master) using something like this though my way is slower. I also don't use the platter glitch to walk through walls and instead use the horse to enter the embassy.  If I had done this I may have been able to shave lots of time off my run. I often use the Throat of the World as a shortcut back to the monastery to skip fighting any dragons Cheesy
Hey guys, not sure if anyone else has discovered this yet but I've made a tutorial on how to use the "do not delete" chest to "float" and access pretty much any area in the game. I understand the method is quite time consuming and from what I've seen of the current any% run it isn't incredibly useful but it may be useful for future runs and also 100%.

alright just a quick lil bit of information so I may save a little bit of some people's time ^_^

-early throat of worlds doesn't trigger paarthurnax so its almost pointless but always remember there could be hidden triggers somewhere so don't completely rule it out yet.

-"do not delete" chest can be used in several occasions such as skipping Tsun and most likely many others, its just the fact it takes so long to get places by "chest levitating/floating" that it can be slower. (also beware of future patches as they may patch the "do not delete" chest so that it has no physical form and you just clip through it)

-lastly it is possible to do sub 1 hour master any% if your wall clipping is done quick enough (they have patched wall clipping so it is much harder >.<) and if you use most of the main skips, that too are done reasonably quick.

I...don't believe you. You previously said that you would break an hour using thedopefish's route, but have only described in fragments how you intend to save nearly 30% of his total time. When all of our best times have clustered within ten minutes of each other, you'll have to offer some more substantial evidence to back up a claim that you can cut 15 minutes off our best segmented time.

In short, I do not believe that the current route could go sub1. Prove it or don't claim it.

The route I use has changed a little over the months but it is pretty much the same (thedopefish's main route with my "scroll tactic" for money and to kill alduin). The scroll tactic and semi-flawless clipping/skipping is how I plan to sub one hour, and if you do the math it proves itself.
I won't upload a run that isn't something I plan on keeping because of how long it would take me to render an hour long video on my shitty laptop. Once I break an hour I will sure as hell upload it no problem but until then I will have no full-proof. Which will most likely be a segmented run now instead of a SS cuz of the wall clipping being patched ='(
What is the lowest completion time you've actually achieved?
1:08 but i can cut the 8 minutes if i can clip faster (around 5 minutes), and get the right scrolls for a fast alduin fight (1 to 5 minutes). Also I am working on some new skip strats with the "do not remove" chest so that also should cut a bit of time
Ze3z I found out you can bucket jump on the right side when you are going to get the chest? you don't need to bowl threw the gate. the right window beside the gate and there is a window you can bucket jump to. Also if you add the torch glitch into your run Will be allot faster.

'Its DrDeath From youtube. I Been working your video route into This videos route+ my own little changes, It also takes me around 2:40 to get out of starting area Helgen keep. i also tried the Dragon/tower skip which flings me on top of the tower shaves off 30 secs. Because it takes me nearly around 35 secs to get from the start to helgens keep.

WOW.
Ok, so I have been playing around a bit, and we may have a major skip on out hands. If anyone has the world editor on PC, I need you to look for something. Load up an instance of Whiterun and look around the edge of the outer walls. Do you see any load points or warps there?

I have been looking for the trigger that loads Sovngarde in the second to last quest, and I have been exploring outside of Whiterun when it is loaded (clipping out). At one point, I am able to see a "To..." marker on the screen. Whenever I walk into it though, the screen just stays on a black screen and nothing happens. I think this may trigger loading Sovengarde, but I can't be sure. I'll post pictures later.

Also, if anyone wants my Skype so we can talk about the run more, feel free to PM me.
So, I was de-rusting today on the route and beat my old WR run by 53 seconds, I still think it is a rubbish run, so not going to save it or anything, but it was about a 1:14 flat.
I was wondering, did the vendor sell glitch Caelint used get patched?  It doesn't work for me.

WOW.
Yeah, that goes patched in one of the first patches unfortunatly.

That means that you have to make an early detour to dragonsreach to sell to Farengar adding extra time.  Any other ways of getting the money for the carriages?

I've been trying my hand at speed running this game and have started some practice runs.  So far my best time is around 1:19:19 and I plan to try and go lower and eventually record it.
I was wondering how timing would be counted for a Skyrim run.  Would it use the timer at the save screen?  This timer runs during pauses, inventory, and time spent in the wait menu while also loping on the 8 or so minute intro but still works in real time (waiting an in game hour makes the timer go up by the seconds spent in the menu).  Or would a separate timer such as wsplit be appropriate in order to be started after the dragon attacks and you can run with your character.  Also when would an any% run end?  As soon as Alduin's health reaches 0 at the final fight or when completed flashes on the screen to for the end of the final main quest?
That's strictly my opinion, but the in game timer should only be used on the console versions, as loading times are counted too and they are very hectic on PC. A submittable run will surely be manually timed on PC. Although for practice purposes only, a rough timing should start from gaining control (the moment you can start moving after the execution failed), and end with the killing blow on Alduin, as it is the last meaningful input in the run. I think Ilseroth uses that timing too for his SS runs, and my old segmented practice run converted to that is around 1:08. Using wsplit or simply subtracting the intro time works for practice and comparison purposes.
Alright thank you, however wsplit won't work without altabbing skyrim even with the windowless border mod.  How do you use wsplit during the game?
There's an option called global hotkeys if I remember correctly, then you can bind wsplit functions to keys and they will work even if another program (Skyrim for example) has mouse and keyboard focus.
I tried binding the hotkeys to something the game didnt use (v and g i think) and it still didn't work though.
Did you check enable on the top left corner of the global hotkeys settings?
Yeah I got the little green square and the timer even when always on top is up it only appears when skyrim is in windowed mode.  When it is in windowed mode and you have skyrim selected the timer will appear on top but not respond to my hotkeys.  Not sure what the problem is and I even tried the windowless border mod and got the same problem.
I've been doing more practice runs lately and my best run so far is 1:16:11 (in game time), working towards getting it recorded.
