I don't see the reason for telling us that you're not going to tell us..
Anyhow, I haven't played the game/followed this thread in ages but if I recall correctly, someone mentioned on the earlier pages that Alduin level scaling only kicks in after level 10 so staying at level 1 would still be the same as if you hit level 3 or 4 and if I'm not mistaken that is the only fight to be fought during the run or was there something else that I forgot about?

Yah I don't mean to seem like an asshole thats rubbing my trick in everybody's face but I really need to know if anyone has a better trick that makes mine obsolete because I am literally spending hours on end trying to flawlessly run a single segment >.< also there is one other fight (Tsun, the guardian of the hall of valor) and he is pretty bothersome to kill on master using my method
Ze3z, understand that tactics are not bought or sold on SDA. We are a group-focused organization, and no one is waiting with bated breath for you to tell us your grand scroll secret. Either you will reveal it to us as a fellow, or we will offer you no aid; frankly, you have made a poor first impression. Feel free to work with us, but do not do so from a position of superiority. We hide nothing from each other.

That aside, I am inclined to doubt your time. If you have truly cut ~20% of our best SS run, you have tricks beyond a new combat tactic, since the 15 minutes you need to save is significantly longer than all the combat in the run. Short of a new clipping trick, I think that your time would be impossible.

Either you've found much more than you let on or you're lying to us, and I am inclined to suspect the later; I mean you no disrespect, but the fact that you approached this forum with such a furtive, secretive first post inclines me to think you're hiding something. Please, prove me wrong.

Once again I am very sorry that I seemed like an asshole trying to tease everybody with a new trick but all I want is some kind of estimation on the competition's runs. That's fine if you doubt my time, I would too if some new kid said he could best the top, so I don't mind if you hold my time up to debate until I release the actual footage of my run.

I have a well paying job for 17 so I have no need to sell stuff online and my money is my money so I'm too greedy to buy anything ^_^
Just record a complete run of the SS route you've currently got. It doesn't need to be perfect. Post it here with any of your own insights about improving it. Then we'll give you all of our insights.

That's how it goes here. We don't need any of this talk.

WOW.
Ok, so I'm back at this after a small break, I'm back on this.

Firstly, would anyone be interested in a #Skyrim channel on the SDA IRC? Have been thinking for a little bit and I think it could be use for people doing either SS or segmented runs to communicate faster.

@ZE3Z - No, no one has got sub-one hour in any catagory yet. I am extermely intruged on how you do this, have you found a new sequence break? What platform are you running on?

Edit: #skyrim is now up on SDA's IRC. I won't be able to be on all the time but I will be when I can.

I'm surprisingly running on xbox cuz I gots teh sheety laptop ^_^ but If you guys make a dedicated official SDA skyrim run channel I will give you my scroll trick video (720p, unedited) with no questions asked and you don't have to credit me. If a good channel gets started that has frequent posters of new tactics and run times, then pretty much my problems are solved so I won't have any need to conceal my runs.
Let the music play!
Why not just make one yourself? Since you have all the answers, apparently, it's up to you to share them.
I don't think I have the ability to make an official SDA channel... and I'm just trying to help everybody instead of just helping myself. I'm not sharing these tricks in private, instead I wanted to share them on a public forum but I guess that was asking too much =L
Balls jerky
What do you mean by channel? If you're talking about irc, it actually exists. There was only one person in there, but it exists.

I believe he's discussing a youtube channel, he's a CoD community member and they do pretty much everything on youtube in those parts.

Just post a video to your own channel Ze3z. There is no good reason to conceal your tactics, and if you think your secrecy regarding this topic is "helping everybody" and not just yourself... I don't understand.

Also, this is a public forum. There is nothing private about SDA, clearly anyone is free to wander in and post.

To the rest of the forum: I suggest we drop the topic soon if videos are not produced, we've managed to make quite a few posts without going anywhere. Also, I support #skyrim, although I won't be using. I think we need to work on small run revisions at this point, unless anyone has more ideas for large timesavers.

I'm rendering my video right now which will be up sometime tomorrow, and I agree that this is getting nowhere right now. Something good that I would like to see is if people can actually get out of Helgin using Alduin. So far what I think you have to do is once you exit the tower when he is about to spit fire at you, you have to jump onto the inn's roof, go to the center of the roof to activate his next sequence that will make him fly over to the child, once the sequence begins you need to immediately try to remount Alduin. sorry if thats confusing ^_^

Ill be doing this when I'm randomly messing around =P

I suggest you read the entire thread, as I already did exactly what you described months ago, and it's useless as you'll still be shackled, AND fast traveling out of Helgen (not sure if it's working on xbox) is faster anyway which was discussed here as well.

My bad I kinda just scimmed through the posts on the thread and saw somebody talking about riding Alduin out of the map but didn't see anybody saying that its  not beneficial ='(

I like the hidden chest, seems like a decent way to get some money. I am still confused how you managed to save fifteen minutes with it, care to elaborate?
WOW.
I was talking with CoolMatty (or Coolkid, I forget which one sorry), and he said the chests hold the inventories of NPCs. We could sedentary use this to our advantage, maybe find the chests that hold the two artifacts do we can skip the cave guy's dialogue? (I forgot his name too).
I can finally contribute to this thread!

Ahem. While the hidden chests do contain an NPC's inventory, it is actually their shops inventory and not their personal inventory. The most famous hidden chest is in Dawnstar, right outside the Iron Breaker Mine and belongs to Ahkari, one of the Khajiit caravan merchants. Supposedly the other merchants chest's are hidden just outside Markarth and Solitude, but I don't know exactly where.

Because of this, I don't think you'd be able to find a chest with Septimus Signus' inventory as he is not a merchant.

The merchant chest in ZE3Z's video appears to belong to Colette Marence, the resoration merchant/trainer of the College of Winterhold. I tried getting to her chest but failed. I think I got the location wrong.  I'll keep trying.
You can pickpocket the two artifacts pretty easy but sometimes you will get caught even when pickpocketing correctly. I will be adding a list of possible loot from that chest (at lvl 1) but as of right now it seems like you will get - (0-4) staves - (6-25) scrolls - (5-25) robes [always novice since lvl 1] - (4-6) spell books - (0-50) soul gems. And lastly I plan to break 1 hour by almost flawlessly running thedopefish's run that he did back in December. I run a few routes different, only going to use runs where I successfully plate 1 to 3 tries, I use my hidden chest method for money and spells so no need to get bound bow or the whiterun hidden chest, and I will only be using runs with an Alduin and Tsun fight under 5 minutes.
Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
What Ascetic said. I didn't mean to confuse, Chrno.

Ahkari's chest has a lot of really fancy loot, although I don't know how much of it would actually come in use for speedrunning. I do know, however, it is incredibly easy to get to, and doesn't require fighting to reach. I know there's videos of it online already, but I'll go ahead and whip one up right now anyway, just for reference.
Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
After looking for the blasted chest for a good few minutes, it's not there anymore. I don't know if my game bugged out (I've used it on this character before), or if they patched it.
Everybody make sure that you know that the level of your character effects the loot inside the hidden chests since they are the inventory of shop keeper... you all probably already know this but just in case some don't ^_^

WOW.
First Alduin fight is being a pain in the arse, always die half way through. Does he has a blind spot?

Edit: Just realised I was an Adept instead of Novice. What difficulty were the other runs done on?
Mine was on the easiest, melee is pure luck manipulation on higher difficulties. On higher difficulties (and for the fastest possible time), you need Paarthurnax to land early and get Alduin's attention.
WOW.
Ok, I think that I will just stick with Novice then. Most of the run is glitch-heavy anyway and it's not like we are killing a lot of enemies.
the trick for the first alduin fight (for all difficulties) is to dragon rend paarthurnax at the beginning of the fight and then dragon rend alduin right next to him. after you have alduin dragon rended next to him, spam the dragon rend only on alduin from there on out sence paarthurnax won't move unless alduin moves
