Is it a segmented run if the game has auto save points, you die and it sends you back to an autosave/checkpoint. Can a Single Segment run be described as 1. Finishing the game in one sitting 2. If you die once, its over (if there are auto save/send you back to checkpoint)

Fucking Weeaboo
What defines a single-segment run vs a segmented one is whether or not you save and quit. Dying to warp back to a checkpoint in some games is actually a timesaver and perfectly legit for single-segment runs. There are exceptions, but this is the general rule.
What defines SS vs Segmented is whether you do it in one sitting. Saving and quitting is still allowed in SS runs if it speeds up the run.
SDA labels those runs Single-segment with resets.

Yeah, but he's asking about save-anywhere games, where you die and it reloads an autosave. Technically speaking, it's a save+load.

Regardless I think that still qualifies as single-segment, but it seems like it'd be a rather nasty mistake and you should probably avoid it happening.
Unless of course it helps with the run -- for instance if it allows you to collect multiples of something much more quickly than another method, etc.

saving & loading would be ok to consider it RTA (or SS with resets) as long as it was done in the same sitting session, but as parax said, unless it's actually faster, you probably shouldn't do it.
Here's a question:

If a game had certain save states that you couldn't access if you power the console off, can you use them for a segmented run? For example, if in a game you can save at save rooms, and if you die you are brought back to that save point, but if you haven't yet used a save point in a level, and when you die you are brought back to the beginning of that level, but if you turn the console off the only accessible save you made was before that are you allowed to use those beginning of level saves?
Weegee Time
Are you trying to describe the start of the level as a temporary save and the save room in the level as a permanent save?  And did you have a specific game in mind?

I also got a question about SS runs: How can I do a SS if I run a game with individual levels? If you start one level of this game there is an intro video in a different resolution as the actual game has and so recording softwares automatically cut the video at this point. So it is impossible without streaming?
Try using DXTory to record. Usually it'll record the different resolutions into separate files which can then be appended with Yua.

Ye, but how can I prove it´s a SS? If I bind several video files and stuff like ammo, health, etc don´t carry over, because of individual levels I can´t prove it´s a SS.
But verifiers can't prove it isn't.
Waiting hurts my soul...

Some games are better done as an IL table.
If you're using Fraps, you might be able to get it to record through the transitions. Play around with the Monitor Aero Desktop option, running the game windowed vs. full screen, and setting your monitor resolution before launching the game.
