For those that don't know the revenge ending is acquired by getting 30+ kills with the "heather beam/sexy beam" before reaching Heather's apartment, which should then end the game with the rather odd ending. More or less the run would be about half the running and 6 times the ass kicking (my SS has 5 kills, only the bosses). Since I have no current speedruns to work on and alot of free time, I was wondering if anyone is interesting in seeing a run like this. For difficulty I'd probably go at-least with normal for the larger enemy count, yet I haven't had the chance to check and see how much damage these beams actually do. And of course I'd plan on this to be a single-segment. I haven't gotten this ending before or even the heather/sexy beam yet, I want to make sure that this run would catch interest before I go along with anything. Other then that I may also plan on improving my current run here as well with a slight route change and using guns instead of just the pipe & katana.

So, what are your guy's thoughts?

My thumbs are up for every sh run. And I would really love to see it being done on easy.

I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain that you don't need 30+ kills to watch the Revenge ending. The rule, as far as I know, is to avoid using any weapon other than the Heather/Sexy Beam to kill enemies. The amount of foes doesn't matter. Try it out, might save some time. Wink

I'm going completely off of what was said on Gamefaqs, but I'll look into it as soon as I unlock the beams and whatnot. Also if I do give this run a shot should I actually leave in the ending or skip it?

You're wrong and right there.

To get the revenge ending you need at least 30 kills with the Heather/Sexy beam.

You can't use any other weapon at all. Period.  You CANNOT even stomp on them after they're down either as that'll count against it.

Oh, and remember to pick up Ampoules along the way - the Beam zaps your stamina like there's no tomorrow.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'm still on my way to unlocking the heather/sexy beam, probably 1 or 2 more playthroughs should do it (need 333 kills total). From what is sounds like the beam weapons are pretty weak, hopefully I'll have them unlocked tomorrow so I can get an educated guess over what time/difficulty I'm shooting for. From the looks of it though it should be atleast under 30. As for ampules I'll probably have to look on gamefaqs to see where they are on the first half of the game, I'll probably have to run around with the health/stamina gauge on to see if they're worth picking up (to see how much the stamina regens going room to room, stuff like that). I'll keep you guys posted on this.

Going from room to room the stamina refreshes to it's maximum.

I think the stamina guage is half full normally, with the rest filling in red when an ampoule is used.

I don't think there'll be too much need to go out of the way to pick up ampoules if you're playing easy or normal.

I forgot to mention something though.

One time I got the revenge ending without even trying - I was going through the game only using the Beam, trying to avoid the revenge ending and see how far I could get before having to switch to something else.

Even with less kills, kills with stomps, kills with shotgun or machine gun I still got the revenge ending.

There is a glitch somewhere that will give you the revenge ending somehow, but I've never been able to replicate the glitch since it last happened.

And no one I know on other forums has any idea how it happened either.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
As a fan of everything Silent Hill (Even the movie), I'd be all over this, even if it doesn't make it on the SDA page.
FF8 & FF12.. Long awaited runs.
Expressing interest! Smiley

Ok, just unlocked the beam now, it's alittle weak and alittle hard to control but this should work.

Edit: NVM, the damage isn't that bad, my aim just sucks Tongue

Sorry for double post...

Alright, just completed my first practice run. I think I did so-so, if I record the run I'll make sure I don't get hit as much (or at all if I can avoid it) and to try to make my accuracy not suck as much. Anyways with it on extra new game (which is required) Easy difficulty for both action and riddle, my first practice time comes to 21m 26s. Although the quality of my play I wouldn't quite consider "SDA Worthy", It's a pretty good idea of what time to shoot for. Also the ending is about 5 minutes long (counting credits, doesn't count towards final time) should I leave it in, leave it out, or skip it right before the credits?

If it's skipable, you should do so.
I'd love to see this. Good luck.

Check with one of the mods first, you might be able to leave it in.

One of the Tony Hawk games has the ending in the speed run, but I'm sure that's skippable.

Oh, and remember that one of the beams homes in on the creatures.  I think it's the balls that do that.

From what I've learned so far the other part of the beam besides the balls home (but I'll be doing more research), but the beams shooting from the eyes seem to do the most damage. I don't believe I'll need to pick up any ampules or healing items, the stamina DOES go down quickly, but it isn't worth the time to pick them up or use them (even running through the largest areas didn't deplete it). But it seems theres enough interest to warrant a speedrun. I'll probably end up improving my other run as well, since there are 3 different things I can do to improve it (better route, better boss strategy, use of ampules).
