I trip over my own feet in game.
As an aside in case others haven't noticed it, if you plan to get health upgrades it's faster to do them all at the same time. He'll do his cooking dance only once, and slide a platter over each time you pick one up without doing the dance.

I think this is as fast as you can do Black Knight 2, though it's a real pain in the ass. I can almost do it consistently, but sometimes he still randomly decides to transform mid hit.
This is more than likely not a useful jump because I think in a normal run of the level the platform will be in a good enough position to use it, but screwing around in the lost city i found a place where the phase locket can be used to gain the tiny bit of distance to make a jump as an example of the downwards momentum cancelling, cleaning the gap without use of the platform (starts about halfway through video)

Erionn, remember, you don't have to do Black Knight 2

I mean Black Knight 2 as in the tower ascent Black Knight, though that should have been obvious from the video. I don't count the world map one, considering it's optional.

Right, just call him BK3 since it is BK3 though.

Specter glitch brought back to the giant skeleton, followed by a crash. http://www.twitch.tv/cptbrian/c/4584234
Just as a quick note, and I don't know if it works on any other version or if anyone brought this up, but on the 3ds version you can completely skip some cutscenes with the start button.

Another thing: Dying in the dream sequences makes Shield Knight drop sooner, which is useful in Low%.

So if y'all haven't seen, apparently there are now codes. If you enter your profile name to be a specific code, then certain strange effects will happen. Currently, it seems to be agreed that using a code that is purely cosmetic (such as changing your armor color) will be okay in runs, but watch out, that might change. But anyway, here's the document with a list of all the codes and what most of them do.

I trip over my own feet in game.
So apparently this is possible:

The positioning seems to be the feet on the ears, exactly as shown in the video. If you can line that up quickly, it could be a very good skip.

Using cheats which is why I can jump that high, but it seems grabbing ladders offscreen is possible. Doubt there's anywhere in the game where it could be possible without jump height cheats though.

Not even sure what to think about this.

I grab ladders off screen in quite a few spots, it's possible. That's why I jump as high as I can before grabbing the ladder. I did it in the low% run too.

I knew you could grab ladders offscreen that continued from the screen you were on, but not ladders that don't even exist on the current screen. I guess it would be the same thing though.
I'm not so sure about the ladders not existing. It appears to me that the actual level geometry is all layed out from the start, and you only screentransition into them. The glitched spectre fight emphasizes on that theory, aswell as offscreen laddergrabbing and the polarknight bossrush clip glitch.

Not sure if that will otherwise benefit us though

Well visually I mean. They must exist in the level since you can grab them off screen. But yeah it's not relevant since you wont ever be able to jump up that high in a normal run. Maybe for cheat%?
like cptbrian said, there are a couple spots where you can grab ladders a good distance into the next screen, not everywhere consistently though but it saves a couple frames Tongue

Yeah, I've been doing that from the start thanks to playing so much Mega Man. Always have to jump to grab the ladders.
uh totally missed your second vid, that actually seems really interesting. is there a breakable wall there? i dont recognize that room

Nah it seems like the game doesn't actually make rooms you're not in solid so he jumped right to the trigger through the walls

I believe there is a breakable wall, I didn't actually check that.

Strange thing about it is, just jumping offscreen and holding right didn't zone me into the room. I had to jump off screen, hold right, and then hold up for it to happen.
