Now that the games have been chosen, it’s time to get ready to submit some awesome prizes to go with them. Here are some guidelines to read through before you make a submission

Prize submissions are closed!

The deadline for prize submissions will be July 12th, two weeks before the start of the marathon. If you are creating a prize for the marathon and you are not sure if you can make this deadline, please let me know.  I will do my best to accommodate you on a case by case basis.

Now that submissions are live, you can find a list of the submitted prizes: Here

Unfortunately we simply will not be able to accept every prize that is offered

If you are planning to submit multiple similar or smaller prizes, such as perlers, patches, or figures, and feel strongly about keeping them together as a set, please make this information known.Generally, we will split groups of similar smaller items into individual prizes instead of keeping them together as a single prize.

While you prepare to make your submissions, feel free to show off your potential prize donations here. This thread can also be used for posting progress on prizes you're making yourself, or just for asking any questions you may have about prizes or how the submission process will work.

GUIDELINES

Check out the Games List or the Schedule for the games you can submit prizes for.

Take good pictures of your prizes and host them through a reliable image hosting site, such as imgur or photobucket. Please also take measurements and weigh your prize. The numbers don't have to be perfect, but pictures can be deceptive when it comes to size and weight, and it helps for us to have a good ballpark estimate on the dimensions of your prize.

At GDQ events we really love showcasing all of the unique items both made and acquired by the community. As a result, we generally do not accept digital prizes (i.e. Steam codes) for the main event. However, if you happen to have a really cool digital prize, we may do a social media giveaway.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, leave a post in the thread, or feel free to contact me directly at Prizes@gamesdonequick.com

Quick question:  I have a Donkey Kong themed prize I wish to donate (a rare Donkey Kong 64 "Yellow Banana" controller) and the Donkey Kong games are split up on the schedule.  Do you think it would work better to offer the prize during the Donkey Kong Country block or Donkey Kong 64?  In fact, is there a way to have it offered in both spots?

In this kind of situation, I would submit it for the DKC block, and just make a note in the extra comments field that it would also be a very thematic prize for DK64. Although, I don't think it would cause a terrible amount of confusion if you submitted it for DKC-DK64.

Take good pictures of your prizes and host them through a reliable image hosting site such as imgur or Photobucket. Additionally, please take down the measurements and weight of your prize. The numbers don't have to be perfect, but pictures can be deceptive when it comes to size and weight; it helps for us to have a good ballpark estimate on the dimensions of your prize.

Is there a reason this is stated twice or is this an oversight/typo?

Just an oversight, thanks for catching it.
Sent, during AGDQ2015 I donated a modified Nerf Stryfe blaster that was wired for more power.

this time, I have a little more in the way of financial resources and would be willing to create several of these, or other nerf blasters such as the larger Nerf Rapidstrike. Within reason, I'll produce whatever GDQ thinks would be best. Is there any way to discuss this prior, since the forms aren't super accommodating to "i'll build whatever you guys want".

Dan, go ahead and shoot me an email, I'm not exactly a nerf expert but we'll see what we can figure out. (Prizes@gamesdonequick.com)

Thank you. You should expect an email from Dan D(Redacted last name).

I also apologize for making that email probably the longest explanation anyone has EVER given regarding a GDQ prize in history.

I sent a PM to romscout weeks ago but haven't heard back - I need someone in charge of prizes / someone who can make financial decisions to contact me to organize a pinball machine grand prize with a smaller in size alternative prize.  Yes, I keep doing things that need special handling but I try to make it worth it. :). Please hit me up on PM or IRC; because there are a few options I am hoping to eventually chat over the phone or Hangouts. Thanks!
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I have a perler for Wings of Vi.

About 5x5 inches, I'm sure some people recognize it. Smiley

I have a collection of most (as in 2/3 for both generations, IIRC) of the GB/GBC Pokemon games and a couple of GBCs. I presume this would be a fairly suitable prize?

Also, I have a handful of zelda games (Link's Awakening DX and the Oracle games [if I can find them]) for that era as well. Would that be best handled as 1 GBC + Zelda games as one prize and 1 GBC + Pokemon games as a second prize?

Assuming everything is in good condition, that sounds like a fine way to split things up to me.
I'd like to submit some perlers, but the list of submitted prizes is blank. I want to make sure I don't submit anything that's already been done, given that perlers seem to be popular. When will the list be populated? Or is there another way I can figure out what kind of perler submissions have already been accepted? Thanks!
I have a bright green transluscent gameboy pocket that is missing the part that cover where the batteries go should I not submitted it because it is missing that piece?
Sent, I sent in a formal application for a GDQ prize. I'm happy to take a "Custom order" though if GDQ wishes for more blasters. Heck, you can spread it out and have it as a donation prize during multiple points... I figured Spooky Games Done Quick was a good spot for the nerf blasters though.

Zounder: Sent you a PM

Delorlort: The same thing happened to my GBA, I don't understand why they never made the later gameboys as sturdy as the original brick, that thing was like a tank. That said, I might be hesitant to submit it if it was missing a part like that.

Dan: Thanks Dan, I'll be in touch by email in the near future if we do wind up having any requests

Aye aye. If it's just accepted as-is, I will only create a pair of modified nerf blasters that are of the Orange/White scheme as shown on the attached youtube video I made for you. I don't know if I said it in the video, but it would be more appropriate for them to go to different winners, rather than a single prize winner.
I've sent a submission form for a new Playstation 4 console (box never opened, blue factory seal intact) that I received as a 1st place prize from the Hyundai Racing Challenge tournament at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. I have no idea how frequently prizes like this are submitted, but hopefully the SGDQ staff will accept my submission.

The exact same thing was donated as a grand prize last year, so I'm guessing your odds are fairly good.

I'm still trying to give away 8 portal magnets that have been hanging on my fridge for a few years ever since I made them!  I'd like to try again this SGDQ.  http://imgur.com/0q5hkf9
Hello! I submitted a form for a Kracko perler from Kirby Super Star. About how long does it take to hear back about whether or not it's accepted?
Here's a preview of it!
That looks great!

I also haven't heard back... I'd like to make more but I don't want to do it if my first submission was rejected. Here they are: (warning: large images)

Hey guys, sorry I've been out the last few days dealing with some property headaches. Water damage from another property and trying to figure out who if anyone is at fault and all that good stuff.

@Rhombohedron: Wow, that is quite a generous donation, thank you rombohedron.

@sambrea: Those magnets look really neat, not sure i'd leave the cake magnet on my fridge though, it might tempt me.

@cranberry and zounder: Unfortunately I don't have an exact time frame right now, at the moment I think a lot of people are busy with or at E3. I would check back early this weekend. If submissions have not already been processed by then, I should at the very least be able to give you guys an update on when they will be processed. Also, nice perlers, and I appreciate the key, the controller, and the 3.5 DM's guide for scale.
I assume a used game would be a fine incentive so long as it's in good condition? I have a local game store in the next town over that has Wizards & Warriors but I haven't seen the cart yet.
