Serious Sam: The First Encounter (pc) (pc) [Any %] [Single Segment] [Co-Op]

Decision: Reject

Reason: This run is several minutes slower than the fastest reported time in this category (and which pre-dates this submission). N.B. This run is incorrectly labeled. The correct category is any%, normal difficulty, single segment (with resets/saves).

This run will be available for a month. After that these link(s) will no longer work.

Please post your opinions about the run and be certain to conclude your post with a verdict (Accept/Reject). This is not a contest where the majority wins - I will judge each verification on its content. Please keep your verification brief unless you have a good reason otherwise.

After 2 weeks I will read all of the verifications and move this thread to the main verification board and post my verdict.

First of all it's solo and not co-op. The runner uses up to date strats including large-skips ones which are made possible or easier by playing on Normal difficulty. In the first level he picks up the rocket launcher which speeds up level 2 and 4 compared to the ILs. Whether Tourist or Normal is the fastest difficulty for single-segment, I'm not sure, rocket jumping saves a lot of time but on the other hand the arena fights are much slower on Normal due to more and stronger enemies.

Anyway what I found odd is that the runner keeps quick saving before rocket jumps or tricky parts and I didn't watch all of the video but I noticed he did load previous save states at 3:28 and 6:58. So the run is obviously not single-segmented, but the saving/loading is too obvious for me to think that he cheated. Maybe it was meant to be a segmented run but I'm not sure whether that's even a valid category for this game since it already has ILs.

Reject.

Dragon Power Supreme
for some reason the queue doesnt have single player in normal difficulty so it was chosen automatically haha it's really a Normal Difficulty segmented run.
Stalker!
where is this run is a coop run?
and why all this quicksaving?

Borderlands 2 Glitch Hunter/ router.
Normal % is a thing apparently (not sure about segmented, if it is indeed segmented) http://www.speedrun.com/run/23007 Check 20:30 There is a skip to the entire fighting section which the runner for the submitted video does NOT do.

TBH both videos have safety saves happening for Single Segment which makes sense.

anyway this is no longer the fastest time and fails to do a complete arena fight skip.

Reject
Decision posted.
