I've got a technical/rules question that I'm not 100% clear on from reading the knowledge base.

My PAL Sega Saturn has the 50/60hz switch mod which allows me to switch the output rate from the pal 50hz rate to 60hz which basically gives ntsc like output (well technically I think it's PAL60).    Using that 60hz switch on some pal games that were never optimized for pal when ported over from original  ntsc releases improves image quality (no black bars) but also effects the speed (games non optimized for pal run slower than the ntsc version but switching to 60hz speeds then back up to be the original ntsc speed).

Is playing pal games using 60hz permitted (in the case of consoles that don't have a native pal60 option)? or do you have to use a ntsc region versions of the game if the want 60h output for recording? (and if it  is permitted how do I categorize a pal version of a game forced to output at 60hz, do I just label it ntsc or is it labeled as pal60?)
Thread title:
Using PAL games on a 60hz modded console is generally not allowed except in some very specific cases (like master system using the same cart for all regions). A lot of games are optimized in some sort for 50hz, making them run differently on 60hz. Modded consoles are usually neither pal60 or ntsc because it uses a different crystal component. Output is something weird like 61 or 59hz. So short answer to your question: sorry this is not allowed on SDA.
Thanks for the clarification on the rules and the output details.  The 61hz/59hz weirdness might explain why my capture card didn't like the the '60hz' output from the Saturn so much.  I'll stop testing with it then and just stick with standard 50hz pal.
