DJGrenola's runs are still on the sda youtube and on the proper sda page too. Oh and they are not private anymore.

EDIT: I just checked and they seem to not have been removed from archives.org.

P.S. I may be getting different runs confused as all I can tell is from watching them (all today),

He also removed the ones from the archive as well. Frankly, that's kind of a douche move, but whatever. I wonder if I still have a copy of it that could be uploaded in its place? Granted I'm sure if that happened, he'd go after it with a DMCA claim.

Saw the youtube upload of the promo vid. IQ and HQ don't work on youtube as the video gets stretched out. You should probably take that one down and upload either MQ or the IQ 512kb.mp4.

Was official SDA channel uncapped of time-limit?

Many of us on TASVideos got that bonus because of unknown reason. Few days ago I started uploading on YT runs from here according to my own taste.
Here's the playlist:

I think it's a shame it does that, but how difficult is it to do a re-encode to fix this? I don't we should settle for lower quality versions because YT is being stubborn, especially when the fix is so simple and fast.

Yeah but the thing is, it barely makes a difference. Youtube will fuck up the quality no matter how high it is when you upload it lol. Plus look at the majority of the games in the clip, they're mostly 16 bit.;p

I wouldn't say it does. Not as badly as you say, anyway.
Though it does tend to screw up the sound encoding for low resolution. Or perhaps that may also be a relic of the past now. The quality seems to sound fine on the SDA channel.
I digress.

It recently came to my attention that xISOmaniac has had a few of his runs stolen from youtube by this user: http://www.youtube.com/PwerlvlAmy#g/u

He says he's not sure if there are any from SDA, but it's worth a look. I thought if anyone from here wanted to check it out that would be better since i dont see any of the patented sda intros in there. So it's hard to tell unless the runner him or her self sees it.

To get a standard resolution on Youtube to look decent the best thing to do is make it actually a 1280x720 and stretch to fill the actual lower res video. If it's 4:3 the black bands should be automatically added, depending on the software you use for encoding.
Youtube will be fooled by thinking it's an HD video, and offer not only a pointless (in this case) 720p option, but also an excellent looking 480p.
It's a dirty trick, and it wastes a lot of bandwidth, even with a well done ABR/VBR encoding, but it gets the job done.

It has already been determined that even channels WITH copyright infringement have had their limits removed and some channels with no copyright infringement have not had their limit removed.
So it's best just to check. We cannot be certain otherwise.

Also, "time limit removed" is not accurate. I'm able to upload a sub-2 hour video, but am unable to upload a sub-6 hour video. The reason given is that it is too long. Both videos are under 2 GB.

Hey everyone. I'm bumping this thread on suggestion of another user in regards to my creating an official youtube channel for SDA Commentary videos. (Original thread here)

It's been over a year since anyone new has chimed in on this topic, so I'm just trying to get an updated count on which users are okay with their videos being uploaded to the sister youtube account. I'll be handling the management of the channel, as well as rendering and uploading the videos.
