Terraffirmative!
There seems to be a moderate amount of interest, so I'll go ahead and update this with real information about how this will be run, along with some other info.
SDA Blood Bowl League Season 1
What you will need:
Blood Bowl on PC, specifically the Legendary OR Chaos edition (both available on steam). Chaos edition will give you access to a couple extra teams, but people using Legendary edition will still be able to play you, so choose whichever you like.
A Skype account. We are going to have Skype be our method of direct communication between players unless I get a lot of people who want something else. I'm planning on having a list of everyone's skype accounts in this post when its time to start, but if people would rather have their skype accounts be private we can make a private thread. Please make sure to be logged into skype as regularly as you can so people can communicate. I'd also highly encourage players to use Skype while playing their matches, since it makes it a lot more interesting than playing with no communication, but I'm not going to make this a rule or anything.
Most of us seem to be using IRC to coordinate. I'd highly recommend joining #bloodbowl on irc.speeddemosarchive.com as it'll really help everyone stay organized. I will probably make this the 'official' method of organizing matches next season.
Knowledge of how to play. I don't expect everyone to be super elite players, but at the same time I expect everyone who joins to have working knowledge of the game before we start. There is a tutorial built into the game, but quite frankly it's not very detailed about what is going on. I'd direct you to read through the offical rulebook before diving into the league (you can also view this in-game under tutorial->competition rules. This is actually important, as it has come to my attention that some skills have minor differences. For instance, diving catch now gives a +1 to catching accurate passes). There's also cKnoor's guide, which I have watched through and is pretty informative, but probably won't help you much unless you've already played a game or two. You can also play some matches against the CPU, but I'll warn you that the CPU makes a lot of bad decisions and may teach you bad habits.
Some rules and specifics:
The first thing I want to put out there is that Blood Bowl is a really unforgiving game in many ways. BE PREPARED TO LOSE PLAYERS FROM YOUR TEAM AT THE DROP OF A HAT. Seriously, I've seen players DIE from attempting a go for it roll. BE PREPARED TO GET DICED. Some games you will just be destined to lose because the dice decide you are going to lose. It happens, and if you aren't prepared to play a game where those things happen, then please just don't join. If your team is SEVERELY crippled, I might allow re-rolls, but ASK BEFORE DOING.
To expand a bit, please don't join if you just don't have the time to commit to ~1 hour matches on a regular basis. I'm not completely sure how we will organize, but for now I'm going to leave it to the players to set matches with each other as opposed to forcing a time for matches.
Do not concede matches. Giving up screws up the way points are assigned really badly. I don't care if your entire team is injured, it will mess up your opponents future matches badly. If you start leaving matches, be prepared to not be playing.
If someones game crashes, alt-tab out of the program and kill the .exe manually. This confuses the game into thinking the game never started, and you can re-start it. Unfortunately there is no way to resume where you left off. If it happens really late in a game and you don't want to replay it, let me know and I can set the score manually. This will however, deny SPP from stuff that happened in game.
At least for our first season, make sure to join with a freshly generated team. I don't know if we will carry over teams from season to season (if we even go that long), but for us to start we absolutely must have a clean slate.
Scheduling:
The goal remains to complete each in game week in one real time week. The week will always end on Weds, and I'll end it when all the games are finished. If we somehow get a full week ahead, I will advance the schedule overall by a week, but otherwise the weeks will just have a few days of leeway.
Depending on demand, I may split us into American and European divisions to help with scheduling. I don't know that we'll have the demand for it, but please include that information so that its at least available.

The SDA freeplay league is now available. The league name is "SDA Freeplay League", and the password is "GoFast". You should be able to freely join/leave this league, and play matches at any time with anyone else in it, so go nuts.
The SDA speedplay league is being planned for sometime in the next couple weeks. If you are interested, please join the IRC channel, because you will need to use it so we can organize quickly and get through it in an afternoon. For reference, the speedplay league will have turns set to 40 second time limits, and only elf teams will be allowed.
