Sayonara Umihara Kawase Chirari is the 2015 remake of the 2013 3DS game Sayonara Umihara Kawase. There are both IL and full runs of Original and Shun, but not Sayonara. And most of them are limited to short routes that barely show off the games at all.

So my idea was an All Unlocks Run of Sayonara 2015- essentially the 100% category that finds all exits, collects all backpacks, defeats all bosses in Survival mode, and defeats Survival mode with all characters. It's a brilliant category that challenges veterans and shows off the entire game.

I posted the route on KawaseFan.net a couple months earlier, and a few Japanese players have even attempted it. At least one (Tooro) has posted their entire run in a six-part video series. I predicted runs would go barely under 90 minutes, but they're down to under an hour now. Those who are willing to participate have some stiff competition.

This game is on the Vita TV, which you might not have, but they're pretty affordable. The game is inexpensive, the physical Japanese version is region-free and fairly easy to understand, you probably have a Dualshock 3 or 4 already (and if you don't, Dualshock 3s are pretty cheap these days) and if that's too much trouble, the trilogy is on Steam.

By the way, in addition to reading my brilliant All Unlocks route (in the Sayonara section) check out the rest of the topics and challenges I've started at KawaseFan- they're pretty interesting.

Anyway, I wanna see some competition for this game and category- it's a challenging game that will test the limits of your speedrunning skills.
Thread title:
Here is the under-an-hour world record run done by esk nenza. It doesn't follow the character routing exactly, but it does follow the field routing.

Wait a minute, esk just did another record-breaking run that cut two minutes off the time. Here it is!

The ruler of Chaos and speedruns
I plan to grab a vita tv soon.
Looking forward to it. Vita TVs are pretty affordable, and they are pretty efficient devices as well. Easy to store, in case you want to bring them to marathons. If you plan on importing the physical cartridge, you won't need a memory card and account. You should also have a Dualshock 3 or 4, and if you don't, Dualshock 3s are aftermarket and pretty cheap. Before you do runs, practice and study a lot, as well as toggling options on and off one at a time to see what they do in case you can't read the katakana. Do custom controls and see what works for you. Make sure you can even get 100% before you even begin to attempt speedruns. Also, do in-game time. After showing all the unlocks, choose the door icon to exit the file and select the i icon to view your time without having it keep going because you're not in the file anymore. Also, feel free to quit if you aren't having fun. I won't blame you. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing it!

LOL The game looks good enough. Also I prefer English so digital master race.
New record! Under 45 minutes!
Oh, it's a new record!
Rule change: You should cut out the amount of time looking through the unlocks and the time and just stop the timer when the last unlock comes up in the yellow text box. You can even do this on a current PB. That gives a definitive advantage to recording the run, which I encourage everyone to do to begin with.

With this, the times should be:

Siousatou: 43:41
Wai: 45:50
Ramtieger: 49:25
Esk: 50:43
Tooro: 1:00:08
Gorish: Time is not changed because no video. Can't gauge it.

Also, due to the distinct disadvantage Vita TV has under PC, there should be separate rankings, similar to how Super Famicom/Super Nintendo is different to DS/Vita/PC in the first game. There are loading times and the menus aren't quite as fast. Vita needs to be sub hour! Also, there haven't been any 3DS runs/leaderboards yet.
