Sayonara Umihara Kawase Chirari is the 2015 remake of the 2013 3DS game Sayonara Umihara Kawase. There are both IL and full runs of Original and Shun, but not Sayonara. And most of them are limited to short routes that barely show off the games at all.
So my idea was an All Unlocks Run of Sayonara 2015- essentially the 100% category that finds all exits, collects all backpacks, defeats all bosses in Survival mode, and defeats Survival mode with all characters. It's a brilliant category that challenges veterans and shows off the entire game.
I posted the route on KawaseFan.net a couple months earlier, and a few Japanese players have even attempted it. At least one (Tooro) has posted their entire run in a six-part video series. I predicted runs would go barely under 90 minutes, but they're down to under an hour now. Those who are willing to participate have some stiff competition.
This game is on the Vita TV, which you might not have, but they're pretty affordable. The game is inexpensive, the physical Japanese version is region-free and fairly easy to understand, you probably have a Dualshock 3 or 4 already (and if you don't, Dualshock 3s are pretty cheap these days) and if that's too much trouble, the trilogy is on Steam.
By the way, in addition to reading my brilliant All Unlocks route (in the Sayonara section) check out the rest of the topics and challenges I've started at KawaseFan- they're pretty interesting.
Anyway, I wanna see some competition for this game and category- it's a challenging game that will test the limits of your speedrunning skills.
