A/V are good.

The path in Zaton isn't optimal, but a perfect path requires such insane luck manipulation (3 expensive artifacts in Scar plus a group of bandits spawning just at the entrance, a one in a million odds) that the runner's path is well within acceptable bounds, especially with such solid execution. Artifacts bounce around randomly and invisibly, yet he picked all of them up almost instantly.

The fence jump at 7:35 is significantly more difficult than it looks, well done.
Neat way to confuse the scripting of the Gauss Rifle quest.
Nice path at the Zaton workstation.
Solid route through Pripyat for the rest.

Perfect luck manipulation could improve the run by a minute or two, but considering the unlikeliness of a perfect constellation and the solid play quality, this run is well within acceptable bounds.

Accept.

A / V

Based on the fact that the plot requires a particular amount of money for the Seva suit
it is a well thought-out route to get that money in a quick way.
To quote Onin: "a perfect path requires such insane luck manipulation"

Across the board the quests which were needed are quick and well done.
The runner prevented time-wasting things like cutszenes, instrucion (Gauss Rifle quest) or game caused conversations (Garry / Sokolov)

Throughout the whole video the runner acted clear-sighted particularly with regard to the weight in order to sprint without losing stamina.

In place of going to the trader over and over again the runner calculated the weight of stuff he´s carrying, the stuff
he is going to collect on the way and the distance he needs to cover sprinting.
As you can see at 13:25 he picks up stuff he droped earlier to save time and weight.

To beat that time perfect circumstances regarding Stalker and artifact placement are essential.

Looking at the amount of damage he takes there is no doubt that it is on Novice difficulty.

Accept.

The audio and video quality was pretty good. There's a few minor stutters in the video that are barely noticeable and possibly caused by the game and not the encoding process (the optimization of the X-Ray engine is terrible).

The gameplay itself was very good. Just by looking at the general route and the money aswell as item planning, you can see that a lot of thought has been put into this. Every move has a purpose and no second is wasted on unnecessary stuff (which is not uncommon in RPG runs).
The way the player is managing his backpack in order to stay light enough for infinite stamina is clever. He drops items at places that he visits twice so that he can always pick them back up again and eventually sell them to get the required money. Speaking of that, money planning was pretty much spot on looking at the fact that the player had no money left after buying the SEVA.

Eventhough speedrunning this game is mainly running forward, there are a few places where good execution and skill is required (for example the gap jump at 7:35, monolith fight at 26:38, window jump at 28:40 just to name a few) and the player has impressed in both aspects.

All in all the runner has set the bar pretty high with this one. Good planning and execution have led to an almost flawless run. I would guess there's roughly 30 seconds that could be improved in the first area (Zaton) with a minor reroute though. Unless new tricks are found, this will pretty much be the reference for a long time.

That's an easy accept.

Decision: Accept

Congratulations to Daniel 'rayvex' Babik!
