Found another online buisness of his: www.monsterbong.com O_O Again, the registry info matches. The website contains his old addresss, so don't harass those people (he moved around November, the old flat is still available). I have found forum posts where he has admitted to drug use and even getting raided. No wonder TSA was having a hard time trying to reason with the chap; the dude was probably higher than a kite.
Could a mod please alter my post on the previous page so that pcgeekonline is not a clicky-link? That was a grievous error on my part. I apologize profusely.
His internet access provider is/was through blueyonder.co.uk. Radix might be able to find him in the logs by his access into the various parts of the games pages ... and then ban him from accessing SDA!
Judging from the responses to this thread, just about everybody else will probably disagree with this, but oh well. I don't expect to change anyone's opinion, but I think I should get this viewpoint out.
Of course I would rather get credit for runs that I do, but if it means the difference in some poor soul out there getting to see the run or not, I'd rather somebody take credit for my run while spreading it than to not spread it at all. The person who loves a game enough to download a huge speedrun or potentially even pay money to buy a homemade DVD, while being ignorant enough not to be able to find SDA or anywhere legit, is not doing this because he/she cares about the runner, and won't really even notice who it is. Anyway, I just realized: more than credit what I would miss is the chance for feedback.
To put it another way, if you remember many years back, there was a big hubbub on GameFAQs because some magazine or whoever had plagarized someone's FAQ. There was this big backlash among the writers to make sure to put in all these copyrights and legal sections and "my dad is a lawyer"s, even assuming those were even necessary for copyright protection. Anyway, I always figured, if I ever wrote an FAQ, I would copyleft it. And if a magazine "stole" my work, I would be flattered really. I don't care how it gets out there. I would be glad someone who would otherwise not have found out about useful game info does find out, regardless of whether or not I ever got any credit.
Steal This Speedrun, I guess.
And I am not saying I wouldn't mind being miscredited on SDA, or that I wouldn't want someone to be corrected when falsely claiming a speedrun. If there are easy means to get it right, of course it should be done that way. But if it happens outside of my knowledge, I wouldn't care at all, and even if it happened say on Ebay, I'd be pretty ambivalent about it. (I guess this is what we have TSA for. I applaud him.) I certainly wouldn't want to add a watermark or anything like that.
Ok, carry on with your sentences containing exclamation points.

Yeah I laugh at some of the things in gf FAQs too... and when I did my one faq I did something similar:
Legal note: you can post this walkthrough online or anywhere else you want without my permission as long as it is not modified at all. The original location for this document is http://radix.metroid2002.com/echoes100_100.txt
Not really "copyleft" I guess but good enough for me.
Enhasa has a point, I guess. I can't even remember who ran half the runs on my computer, so I guess it doesn't matter too much, but I still stand on the fact that the runner deserves credit regardless.
I haven't been following up on this thread so I'm sorry if this has already been said. But, in his feedback he ADMITS they are from SDA, and says that this way they can watch it on DVD so that makes it ok? Oh, and he makes the covers....Whoop-i-de-do

When you put it like that of course it is okay. Putting the fact that he is fraud aside.. the whole point is he is doing it just to make money which is not going to SDA. (And of course the money that goes to SDA is for the site itself)
This guy probably works 80 hours a week and still can't get a five figure monthly sum from all his failed schemes. Eventually it will catch up to him and he'll quit, they all do. Schmucks!
I disagree with the "who cares?" approach. I understand that a person may want to get their run out, but you deserve credit no matter what.
I love watching speed run videos, and the fact that each and every video has an identity behind it makes it that much better. I love reading the run comments before and after I watch a run, that's part of it that makes it unique. It's cool to understand the time and effort it takes, even if all YOU, the runner, want is for your video to get out. I'm strictly a viewer and have no intentions of making a run any time soon. If I wanted to watch pure-ownage gaming runs, I'd watch tool-assisted runs. I think the people is what makes SDA great. No matter what you say, there is always the competition aspect in all the runs, otherwise you wouldn't try for a better time. Your name deserves mentioning.
Whats the point of watching a SS speed run that isn't 100%? Plus, if that is TSAs OoT run why would someone pay to see only half of the game since he skips so much of it, and he goes backwords 90% of the time...
I hate the people who take and sell... can't do that on their own... but if he have done it, well that's another thing, but still...
on the zelda one there it says there is box art etc and its on high quality dvd. im sure they have a guy working with them to do speed runs. and then manufacture the box art etc. i don't think its a cheap copy but i could be wrong

The guy ADMITTED he did take the runs from Speeddemosarchive in his feedback when TSA said that the guy was selling his intellectual property over his comments. The emails TSA posted only shows that he's involved with a FEW, but he did take several of TSA's runs for the DVD and he's profitting because SDA doesn't sell DVDs of these runs.
