I allow to make a topic new to ask you questions about a game which I would want to make speedrun. But the problem is that I do not know how to take myself there, seen that there is no record on game.

But my other problem is how to make, very well not speaking English I would want to know how proceeds routing of a run. I predefined a time about 3 hours for the game, one of your topics said between 2:30 / 3:00. Knowing that I try a RUN completed with the available means in New Game I do not know when I throw the chronometer at which moment? Launch of the console or plainly launch of the part ?

I know that my questions are rather vague, but it is the first time when I participate on this forum.

Thank you for your answers and good day!

Hi and welcome to SDA.

First: Your English is pretty good, don't worry about it.

If there is no in-game timer that is reliable, the timing starts when you gain control of your character, and ends when you lose control for the last time.

When it comes to routing the game: If there is something available on the forums, read through all that, look for game videos on youtube (specially glitch videos), and play through the game yourself while taking many notes of behavior. If anything comes across as exploitable, experiment with it A LOT, also post on the forums and others may help you test. Some general tricks to try is skipping event triggers and clipping (clipping is when you make the game push you through a wall / object).
And most importantly: Post in the game thread about all your findings (if there is no thread, make one) so that others can check for mistakes or come with ideas to make progress easier.

A more advanced suggestion: Check if there are any speedruns or Tool Assisted videos on nicovideo (the site is in Japanese, but will probably be navigable through Google Translate), just remember to use the Japanese title of the game ルールオブローズ when looking for videos. You might need to register to watch the videos.

Good luck!
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I have not played much of Rule of Rose however, I have been speedrunning it's spiritual predecessor, Haunting Ground, for over 5 years now.

The only tips I can give you for routing would be based on that. I would first suggest you start with what is needed to complete the game and work your way backwards. In routing Haunting Ground (or most any game for that matter), it started with figuring out what was actually required to trigger the end of each area and work my way backwards.

I'd also suggest you find a map or make one yourself. Routing a game like this actually requires looking at a map and figuring out which rooms you need to travel through for the fastest route.

Lastly, for a game like this, you will need the utmost of patience. RNG will screw you over a lot. Make sure you really love the game before you get involved in this, because the randomness of the clock tower type of games can become really frustrating really quick.

Here are some maps of the levels from the game. You can get them here: http://kangeis.deviantart.com/gallery/24349463

For an alternate download (more broken up maps), use these: https://mega.co.nz/#!dVJHwQwC!LU-iJ0kjiGzghHwdOvStXQbAINhoVoRvvKooak-tAUg (15.3 MB)

Hope that helps get you started, anyways.

Survival horror. It's similar to Clock Tower and Haunting Ground in how it plays. It's a creepy game, worth playing if you've got a PS2.

Thank you for your answer, they help me a little.

I never make a map personally, because the best of maps it is my head. Smiley

Arriving at the first boss of the game, it is for me the biggest problem, the view that he in a really boring bland and especially Brown (Dog) makes a little bit anything and the stabs are really very indistinct.

Hoffman: http://ruleofrose.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._Hoffman

Approximately 22 knocks are needed, but I am not on 100 % view that it is not very visible with them will be on drugs which hide in bad angle. I know that Steel Pipe is the best weapon for this boss view that Steel Pipe is far too slow and Hoffman counter-attacks immediately. The boss is not really hard, but the most difficult are the reading of his movement.

I have a perfect in 80 % on my 8 try.

He died there approximately 20-30 seconds and I took no blow and Brown only one.

But the rest of tries I made me have 2 - 4 but me always wins.

Thx You !

Yosh !

I played in the hands in multisegment to see more or less time possible, I think that I can make less than 10 minutes of improvement on 1:51 of the game. In this run loads are not counted not in the final time. It is the consoled time. As says on the precedent topic I think that the time on chronometer is 2:30 approximately. I have Skip all the useless things is the path of the run complete and completed in 95 %, it is possible to have improvements but, it remains rather small.

I cut the game in demand of saving further to the end of a chapter, I have never protected of myself not to waste time.
