I don't know how much speed could be put into the early levels, but as the levels get more difficult, it could be interesting to watch and difficult to get faster times, since at times you may have to stop attacking it so that you can move faster to avoid the bullets.
Anyone else think this would be a neat game to see a few speed runs of? There are also multiple modes, so one might be more suited to doing quickly than the others.
In game there is a timer that starts at the beginning of each stage. It times from when you start a stage and the boss appears, pauses at the mid-way point, then ends after the stage is complete.(5 stages in a level) So the total time could be the sum of the in game timer times, which I *think* would compensate for the lag which is experienced due to the large number of objects being rendered.
