The characters were chosen based on what their primary function is. For the Grimrock party, the two in the front row fight unarmed, the rear left is an archer, and rear right is a spellcaster. Technically, Alef would have been more accurate since she's a Bolt specialist, and the mage in Grimrock specializes in the same. But I figured Anri would be more recognizable to people who've played it casually, and she does technically get a couple of the Bolt spells. Tongue

Also, I could have sworn Zylo was part of the speedrun route...

Ah we didn't know, Ty actually asked me about it today...

But Zylo hasn't been a part of the run for about 6 months now give or take. You have much to learn this coming marathon Wink

Regarding DW3, if only the hero's name is going up for an incentive, it's okay for it to be 6 characters -- it just means that I'll need to do an extra item swap on another character to avoid breaking the glitch (the core problem is that if a 6-character name is the last one shown while swapping items between glitch cycles, it triggers an "X is dead" message on the next glitch cycle and throws off the timing). I added that note because I have to avoid the case in which every character's name is 6 characters long, and if I have to require one name to not be 6 characters, the hero is the one that saves the most time.

Was the JP version officially released on VC by chance? We're fine with stuff like Swap Magic and flash/repro carts to bypass region locking, so if the idea is that the game was released on VC, just not in English, then I'd be fine with allowing the Wii U VC inject under that philosophy. If the game was only ever officially released on DS, I'd prefer if you ran it on DS for the marathon (Vulajin has a DS capture setup you can use if you need one).

There's a sizeable update coming soon for World of Final Fantasy that's likely to bring the estimate down several minutes. Thankfully I don't think it will require too much re-routing, it's mostly quality of life stuff and other passive speed increasing things. It's also likely to add another champion to my donation incentive. I'll let you know if anything needs changing asap.

I've purchased physical copies of both PAL versions of SF2 for the donation incentive (will be in British English, PAL is required for immensely beneficial gameplay changes), and I've got plans to borrow an original DS with a capture mod installed to use for the run (courtesy of Ourolen). Just felt like posting this to follow up on console/donation incentive stuff, but also to make sure that there's a layout that can accommodate SF2. I assume you're already familiar with this from watching a bit of the submission vod, but both top and bottom screen are equally important. Everything outside of combat occurs on the bottom screen while fights take place on the top screen. I just wanted to double check that you're aware of this before we get too close to the event, although I should have double checked on this sooner, sorry.

Schedule update: Diablo 2 is now going to be Normal instead of Nightmare mode, which lowers the estimate by 90 minutes, and KH1FM and KHBBS are dropping by 55 minutes due to runners switching to the much faster PS4 version - adding Child of Light (Any% with 100% incentive) to the schedule to get us back on track.
