After much planning, I've written up a tentative item route for people to peruse. =p

Hopefully, you should all be able to read it. I modified ZENO's route, but I decided against using the handgun for most of the run; particularly because of Super Tyrant. It would take like, 2 clips of handgun bullets to prompt Brad to drop the Rocket Launcher, and I can't really afford to go out of my way to get all that extra ammo outside of it requiring extra time to fire it all off. The Colt Python is conveniently in the way in comparison to the shotgun, so I figured I'd get it right after saving Rebecca. Another thing to consider is the Hunter- Hunters LOVE to jump over my handgun shots and can be killed in 7-8 knife slashes, so maybe I'll forego the extra handgun ammunition for playtime. =3

What do you guys think?

Thread title:
So... Nothing you guys think I could be doing? Does it sound about right? Throw me a bone. =|
1:28-ish after a bad test run.

I can knock it down so much lower if I figure out Plant 42's first round and the Hunter fight. I can use the handgun on the Hunter, easy, but he's a dodgy little fucker. He will not hesitate to leap after I draw my gun, so maybe knifing him is the way to go. I love how Chris's scenario has like 50 more zombies and hunters for me to dodge, too. D=<

I'll kick the shit out of it. I'm pretty confident that the Colt Python is the way to go, too, considering the Tyrants dropped so much faster than they would've if I'd just used the handgun. I've always wanted the chance to use it in a run. ^^

hehe but srsly this is pretty exciting to see you trying this and nice to see the progress. I can't wait till it starts getting improved and you turn up an awesome Run Smiley

Update? Smiley
Still practicing. Got around 1:25 last run. I'm going with the handgun for the Hunter, most definitely.

I'm pretty confident with the item route, though I wish I had more input... It'd be awesome to discuss it a little more, get some ideas, or know if I'm doing something horribly wrong; especially with my weapon route.

I'll work on where to take damage next. Knifing Plant 42 is easy, but knifing him without taking much damage is the hard part. I want to be able to save my first F. Aid Spray for after I get bit by the zombie outside the kitchen elevator, as usual.

Nice to hear how its going. I wish i could help more but as you know I don't think there really is a Chris 100% run even anywhere else or at least a GOOD one. The only thing that I ever can go off of is Zeno's 58:xx run but thats not 100% now is it :p

although the way he deals with plant42 in his run is the same pretty much and he doesnt take much damage (if any) at all and after practicing the way he fights it i got it down after a bit so im pretty sure u could get a fight without much hits. Smiley

Route for BH1 seems solid enough Cheesy
Carcy...I have always watched you and the others here and REplayers about BH runs.
Slightly off topic - some guy did a TAS of RE3 USA, a game you attempted a while back and did pretty good on. The time? 1:07:06, still a beatable time too!!!! Thought you'd like to see it:

...Fucking hell. I KNEW Jill ran faster with the Grenade Launcher unequipped.

Thanks, Armitage-guy. It's off-topic, but not off-relevance. I wish I'd known about it sooner.

Either way, it's run on an emulator. I see that the video length corresponds to the clear time, but I'm going to watch it to see what else is improvable outside of running it on superior hardware. The first and most obvious is to learn the dodge system... That'll come later. I'm going to focus on what I've got on my plate right now.

sshplur offered to do some testing for me, to see whether the Colt Python is worth getting.

off-topic question =):
what is the difference in this TAS and a normal run ? so what exactly does TAS do or what can this player do with TAS what Carcinogen couldnt do?
TAS, or "tool assisted" runs are played on computer with emulator so you can slow down, save/load and stuff to make a perfect run.
Old young man
In some cases of TAS there are things such as saving exact moments in time and continuing, emulating a superior version of hardware, slowdown to perfect the run etc.

What this run achieves is not out of human capability it is merely almost perfect. The only bits I'd say out of human reach are the ridiculous menu and computer cycles :p

The Colt Python in BH would be more valuable than the shotgun once you learn to dodge the attacks of most enemies, as then you'd only really need the that stronger weapon on tyrant/yawn depending on the version of the scenario you want to run (original/arrange), which is obviously where the colt would trump the shotty Cheesy !
"Who is this TAS guy?"
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I know that nobody in this thread is confused at what a TAS is, but this picture is just too funny not to link (stolen from someone at tasvideos, sorry I forget who):

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy :D!!!! SO funny!
Okay his name is Arukado in the TAS forums Carcinogen.
He's also done a 24.0% SOTN TAS as well.

How's this run coming? Has your strategy changed much?
I know, I'll have a talk with him when the time comes. 'Till then though, I'm still working on this.

I'm on a bit of a Mario kick right now, so I haven't played this game in a little while. Outside of that, school is killing me, and I mean KILLING.
http://twitch.tv/Exisidis2
Haven't done this in awhile and just trying to remember myself cause ill be doing a quick little Chris 100% tommorow but how do u make sure rebecca is alive again.
I probably play DC or the least so i always forget just say yes to her and save her from hunter correct?

also how is the run going? still on mario kick? :p
also im bored at school...school is boring Cheesy

I just figured out recently that you dont need to hear rebeccas scream to save her. If after killing the first hunter or going into the first room after the hunter and the cutscene where chris asks about rebecca if you hear a scream she is upstairs being attacked by the hunter BUT if you don't hear the scream that means she is just outside of the serum room. so you have to go to the serum room and save her from the hunter instead. so i would be guessing that would be a better route for a chris 100% too because after you get the battery your pretty close to the serum room anyways and you could save her from there. after that i wondered. well what causes rebecca to be either upstairs or at the serum room. well pretty much if you get rebecca to follow you and she saves you from plant 42 then you hear the scream. if you say no to her following you at the start of the game, then she is at the serum room instead. hope this was helpful for your route Carc.
Bump (sorry for triple post)

Well, that's already what I had planned. I'm convinced there's really no other way to go as far as saving Rebecca. God, it would be SO much easier if Chris had the passcode for the door on the 2F West Hall. Or, failing that, if the door could be unlocked from the other side.

No point in musing over it. All I need to know now is if I should get the Python. It seems to make sense to use that instead of the handgun for the Tyrant. Bah. I'm just waiting for sshplur to come in and say something along the lines of "Carci, you're going to hate this."
http://twitch.tv/Exisidis2
Yeah I would be saying the Python is best for the tyrant even the end fight is very easy on the heliport because it only takes 5 quick shots right after the cutscene and Brad drops the RL.
anyways wish you best the Carci.  8)
As far as time goes though, I'd like to be damn sure that getting the python is the fastest way to go. It seems to be, considering I'm going to have to collect a few extra clips and Super Tyrant is going to be hard as balls to hit with a handgun.

I really do think it is faster to go with the Python... I'll probably give it another shot this weekend. Perhaps even do that Jill/No Damage run I've been meaning to do for-fucking-ever.
