It's-a me, Raven!
IWD2, PS:T, BG2, RttToEE, etc...

In short: other D&D games that haven't been covered yet. I've seen a PS:T thread here some time ago, and I think I saw someone mention BG2, but that's about it...

(added easier-to-understand title - SDSS)
Thread title:
Well, the BG2 run was already completed, but Radix isn't taking any runs of games he hasn't got a personal interest in at the moment, so it hasn't been submitted yet (I believe). As for the other games, why don't you do a run of one of them yourself?
I dont have a fucking clue what you are talking about Huh?

Acronyms are bad. I recognise Icewind Dale 2, Planescape:Torment, Baldur's Gate 2, Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, for those of you who aren't into PC RPGs so much.

I know Temple of the Elemental Evil but never heard of Return to the ToEE..is that a sequel?
use a god dam significant topic, those dam acronyme are awful..

i only know baldur's gate 2

its ok to use acronyme on like OoT ( when you got a thread of 50 post, i think ppl know it ) otherwise please say the name :/

That's probably a bad example, I was most confused when first coming to this forum by the Zelda game acronyms, having never been into them.
I suggest this should be titled 'D&D-esque RPGs' or somesuch.
Im  getting insane Grin
what does D&D mean? Huh?
dongeon and dragon.. i think

Yeah, I was thinking too that he was replacing one acronym loaded sentence with another ^_^ I mean, it could've just meant Distracting & Diffusive Rocket Propelled Grenades Grin
Weird, those are very common acronyms, maybe some people aren't too familiar with PC games?  Well more specifically, CRPGs...

Anyway IWD 1 has been done, it's real awesome, check it out.

Ok, I was expecting people to know 'RPG'. Smiley D&D maybe not, but they are the common thing linking all of the RPGs mentioned in the first post.
I honestly wouldn't have been able to guess PS:T or RttToEE without the 'RPG' prompting, and the last one took me a minute or so.
RttToEE ?!?!?

this is just TO MUCH LETTER AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, my baldur's gate 2 run is finished, reviewed and sent.

Gotta wait for the next step.
PwNzRd!
If the game operates via dice rolls, it's a D&D rpg (and I have never played D&D before, and I know this). KotoR does it this way.
Your almighty lordship
I'm sure the computer uses physical dice for all its calculations.

You have to buy a 'dicebox' upgrade for the front of your PC, though... these days games only need d20s. Smiley

I mostly subscribe to the 'D&D' definition given above, though... any game with 'Mana' in it isn't following the rules properly, hahaha!
It's-a me, Raven!
First things first: sorry about the jargon.
- D&D = Dungeons and Dragons
- IWD = Icewind Dale
- BG = Baldur's Gate
- PS:T = Planescape: Torment
- RttToEE = Return to the Tomb of Elemental Evil
- Hope I didn't miss any.
Second: Yes, RttToEE is a sequel. The original ToEE is a first or second edition adventure; Return is a third edition rehash. It's also the name of the best D&D 3.5 engine PC game out there, based completely on said adventure module.
Third: I've seen the BG1 and IWD1 speedruns, awesome - too bad they're in German.
Fourth: Not all RPGs that use dice-rolling are automatically D&D games. And those that are D&D games can still be in old 2nd edition rules, newer 3rd edition rules, or the newest 3.5 rules.
Fifth: SW:KotOR (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) is an example of a non-D&D dice-roller RPG. It does, however, use the same base-frame system as the new 3rd edition and 3.5 edition: the d20 System. It uses a d20 - a twenty-sided die - for "task-resolution" rolls (do-I-succeed-at-this-task-or-not rolls), such as attack rolls, skill rolls, saving throws, ability checks and so on. You should check out the Wizards of the Coast site for more inormation on that.
Sixth: We're going off-topic - back to the runs!
Seventh: I'd love to do a speedrun, if it weren't that I'm not a speedrunner. I don't have the skills - worse even, I'm a power-gamer: I love to level up early to bash my way through without difficulty, taking hours and even days of preparation.
Eighth: I'm ranting - somebody stop me Smiley
There is no Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. The 3.5 edition version is simply called The Temple of Elemental Evil.

I'm actually working on a speedrun for it right now. I have the route completely done, and I just need to record it. Unfortunately, one nasty bug is making this a lot harder. I should have it done sometime this week. If not, then it will be a while before I have the equipment necessary to actually record it again.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
If you're going into D&D speedruns, bring on the Neverwinter Nights Run. That would be cool, albiet a bit long for SDA - but it would be cool to watch anyway. Maybe segmented (Chapters).
Speed is the key.

Yeah, a Neverwinter Nights run would be cool, I don´t know exactly how long this game is but i don´t think it will take too long. NN also has 3 expansions, if i remember correctly, they are: Hordes of the Underdark, Shadows of Undrentide and Kingmaker.
