Another great find. It does seem like it might be too difficult for single-segment, though.

Also, sad news… Cloaked yoshi found out on a fresh file you can not deathward to the top of the orb room in the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. It only did that because I was on a completed file. We are trying to figure a way around this. Throwing the orb from the top may be the answer.
EDIT: Yoshi figured out that you have to jump onto the platform where you drop out of the slide room to be able to deathwarp back to the top!
I was having trouble with this too and I was going to say that you can do the damage boost again to get back up, but this way is faster.
I believe the orb skip is actually easier in high res. The skip is actually pretty hard. I must have been getting lucky earlier. Now we can add another trick to the list of run killers.
Yeah, I'd say it's a little harder than the miniboss skip. However, it saves a lot more time, so you can mess up more and still save time compared to getting the orbs normally.
Is it possible to double jump on pc? I forgot. Also, if the damage boost is able to work in this spot, then this is a good PC strat: http://imgur.com/1W8jqn9 if this isn't clear, which I understand if it isn't because my paint skills AWR AM4ZING!!11!!!1 Also, for step 1, ignore the 2nd purple arrow.
Basically, you would do the damage boost onto the platform with the 5 lum and the switch, hit the switch obviously and then hit the other one in the spawn area and then hit the one in the water area (that has the plum). Then go to the underground area, hit the switch down there, and when you get back to the web ladder thing that is climbable, just jump+helicopter back to the platform you came from (it should have the 3 grass pillars in front of it that are the entrance to the whole part of the map) and back through the pillars, and then into the door. I might try to get a video of it sometime, but as I said it's only really good for pc since you need to do the switches anyway. If you are wondering what the time save it, it's skipping the area with rising blender platforms and that 5 lum which nobody gets anyway.
I tried to look into these skips on PC. The orb skip is Sanctuary of Stone and Fire is a bit tricky to pull off, but not too much and is definitely worthy of implementation. Cool stuff.
The skip in the Bayou that Manocheese made a video of and the Tomb of the Ancients switch 3 skip are both ridiculously difficult, I just cannot get the timing right.

I was able to boost up to the ledge you were talking about with a laser shot from the pirate. It should save a few seconds if executed quickly. I could try to make a video if you like.

This double jump on PC, can it be used elsewhere aside from this orb room in Santuary of Stone and Fire?
Damage boosting and fast helicopter should work on pc. So the pirate fight skip in the Canopy and the Bayou should work. Along with the switch skips in the Tomb of the Ancients.
Also, I may be wrong but I do not believe that revival canceling (holding L when you spawn) is not possible on PC. I can't find the button where Rayman holds his head and then the tip screen shows up.
I think most of those fast helicopter tricks I probably wouldn't use in a single-segment, but the one in Sanct 2 in that orb room I'll probably will if I find it consistent, but first I need to learn this trick since I haven't tried it yet. I'm taking a break for now though.
Also, the revival canceling may work, because making Rayman hold his head can be done by holding F1.
Ok. Well, I think I may only use it there where it doesn't involve a pirate shooting you, because you need to jump to lead the shot upwards and then you need to jump up at the right time so you get hit. The one in the orb room in Sanct 2 seems more viable to me since there the small caterpillars that hit you are constantly there, so that will probably be what I'm sticking with (assuming I do Any% at some point, I may quit 100% and move on with Any%...).
Also unreal, there was the part in the underground area where you go to the top of the climbable web and helicopter to the platform that you came from. It has 2 trees, a murphy plank, and a 5 lum. Also there is the 2 grass pillars in front of it. As I said, it skips the whole part with the spinny blender things, so it might save 5-10 or more seconds. Since I don't have a way of recording, can you make a video of it unreal (doing the blender platforms skip)?
Also, within the next week, if I am really inactive, it is because I am moving. 3 days after the move, school starts back up so I will be able to post when I return home, but I am going to limit my runs to weekends only.

So basically you hit the first switch, switch 2 underwater, damage boost to switch 4, then hit switch 3 in the alcove below. After hitting the last switch you can just head back to the door so you do not need to go to the propellor platform area. You jump off of the ledge above the nets back to the tree area right?
Yes, that's the way. You could do it in any order, also once the video is up I am going to time it, and then time it again WITHOUT skipping the blender platforms and compare the time save.
When I timed the videos, I skipped the five lums in the floating platform room since I am on a completed file. It is tricky to time the jump correctly to get onto that ledge. This may be another segmented only trick.
