OoT Rocks!
Hello again, It's Jordan. Sorry for not putting this in my old topic. 1. I can't find it now. 2. I figure it's time to start over anyways.
Anyways, I have a question for all you great people:
a friend of mine is trying to bring me to bongo bongo(as you all remember from my old thread, I don't see and that's why I need to be taken to bosses). anyways, he doesn't know the shortcut and the walkthrough is not very descriptive. the long way kinda sucks(when you want to fight a boss more than once). when the temple is already complete, can someone please describe how to get to bongo-bongo using the shortcut? please note that a video won't do any good because the security system won't let me download videos or watch youtube.
also, if anyone is reading this and would be willing to help me out by making .m64 files of you completing any one or more of the following games(Ocarina of time, majora's mask or master quest). can you please let me know, preferably by contacting me at jv_erner@hotmail.com. if you can't use e-mail, please post to the forum or send me a PM. Please, no spam messages, and please avoid using swair words on this topic(security system at this school will lock me out of this topic if swair words come up). Thanks Kindly, Jordan.
Thread title:
Just call me the cynicism machine
If you've already completed the dungeon, it's impossible to refight Bongo Bongo.

If you haven't completed the temple yet, use an FAQ as a walkthrough.

Jordan, your previous thread is on the second page of topics.  I don't know how meticulous Jaws is in regards to mentioning links on the page, but you'll need to activate the "2" after the word "Pages" is said. Since we have a myriad of threads in the General Chat, some threads are catalogued after a period of inactivity.  If your thread does not feature a response by the time 50 other threads have, then your thread gets bumped to the next page.

Since this may be difficult in your situation, I will provide you a link to the last page of your old thread below this sentence.

Hope this helped. Smiley

Wow! you completely misread my post! the question wos: if the entire temple(excluding the boss) is completed(that's why I said the temple, not the boss). how do you return to bongo bongo's room via the shortcut way.

If you haven't completed the temple yet, use an FAQ as a walkthrough.
there's only 1 walkthrough in existance that tries to describe the shortcut back to bongo-bongo, and it's not nearly descriptive enough

The only way to return to a BOSS quickly if you didn't beat them is to use Farore's Wind in the room before the boss...

That's not what I was refering to.
apparently, there are 2 ways to bongo bongo---one requires you to travel all of the way through the dungeon(not re-beat it, but navigate all the way through to reach the boss chamber). and apparently there is another way to the boss room that doesn't require you to travel all of the way through the dungeon. from what I heard, the shortcut is in an alcove somewhere in a reaper room on floor b2f. we think we've found the room(not 100 percent sure) but have no idea where the alcove is.

I don't think there is any alcove to get to the boss imediately, regardless of whether or not you have pretty much finished the temple. Like TSA said, the only way to get to Bongo-Bongo (or any boss for that matter) quickly (i.e., without going through the whole dungeon) is to use Farore's Wind on the room right before the boss.
OoT Rocks!
Here is a direct quote from the OoT walkthrough that mentioned the shortcut:
"***If you died, you don't have to go all of the way through the dungeon
to the boss again. Just go to the first reaper room in B2F and go to the
northeast alcove and drop down. Kill the invisible Skulltula and you're
back on the ship! Ride the ship to the boss!***"

in this case, we didn't die but rather saved before the boss and are trying to get back. there is apparently no information on the cumpus/map that indicates where the "Northeast alcove" is. this information(as shown above) is not descriptive enough to be able to locate it. has anyone seen this, or can someone please try to look for it?

I think that whoever wrote that is either mistaking a glitch with a shortcut, or they're simply lying.

If you superslide in to one corner in the lower level of the silver ruppee room (or some room near it), you can glitch to the room where the ship is.
OoT Rocks!
I don't think the person who wrote that walkthrough knows anything about glitches, and I have heard something about a shortcut to bongo bongo from multiple sources. just out of cureosity, if there is a glitch that allows you to get into the ship room, why doesn't the tas skip the entire shadow temple(well, not the entire temple but everything after the hover boots)?
and since he did shadow early and didn't have the bow, how does he get across in the part where you have to shoot one of the bomb things to damage the statue and get access to the bridge?  and finally, I know it might sound stupid, but can someone please tell me what "sequence break" means, as well as "Hookshot assent"(I know it's a trick in WT that allows you to skip that one key, but how does it work?

that glitch was discovered after the tas was made.

It means not taking the route the developers intended.

You have to shoot the hookshot at a specific place in the wall above you and it will pull you up to the next floor.
Speed is the key.
Oh for gods sake, he means that when you have beaten shadow the "intended" way once, you would have pushed away the block that blocks the way out of that alcove. If you save after doing that and go there again, you can just drop down where the block would be and skip half of the temple.
Okay, here's how to do it: Head into the shadow temple, go across the tongue and walk down to B2.  Then, turn right at the Beamos, and go into the room with the spinning thing (you had to collect silver rupees in this room).  Go to the far alcove along the far wall and head in; you should fall down through the false floor into a cage in the room where the ship is located.  There is a hole in the bottom of this cage, which is normally blocked by a block; however, if you have previously pushed the block all the way under the ladder (the game makes its little "you solved a puzzle" ding when you do this), the block will remain under the ladder, so you can fall through the hole and get on the ship.

Not the best shortcut in the world, but certainly faster and easier than going through the whole temple.

I got it after he explained it better in his follow up post.

Even still, using Farore's Wind is the fastest way.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.

Ugh, thank you. I was wondering how long it would take for such a simple question to be answered. >_<

If he worded it better, there would have been a faster response.  According to his first attempt, it seemed like he assumed their was a "warp" like in The Wind Waker, ie the warp pots.  So I thought he was confusing it with Farore's Wind.

When he explained himself better, it made sense.  You can only answer what you are asked.

O Zlda?
I knew what he meant when I read his first post, but someone else got to it. after about 15 replies.

Lots of dungeons in all the zelda games have a similar feature. OOT keeps them more subtle, but they're still there in several of the dungeons, including all the ones you visit as child link.

you usually discover the room in question when you're playing the game normally. there's a shadow face on the wall and it talks to you, telling you about the boat in B4, and you fall when you follow its directions and walk closer. maybe he never noticed it because he was using a players guide? meh.

Thank you.
as for the .m64 files I was talking about in my old thread, a friend of mine from school and I have been working on them(she has been doing the dungeons and I do most of the bosses and mini-bosses). shadow temple was almost impossible for her(because she has limited vision), and spirit is presenting the same issue. can someone please help us out by creating .m64 files of the spirit temple and ganon's tower? I can send you our progress(as we are doing this in small sections). if someone could please do that, that would be great. I would like to do the iron knuckles and the boss;however, I really need someone to do the rest of it. as for ganon's tower, I can do the ganondorf battle but not ganon or the castle escape. if someone could please get back to me by posting here, that would be awsome. thanks, Jordan.
PS: I thought I read somewhere on this forum about a majora's mask(TAS);does that exist and if so where can I get it? I think I read it in one of the little comment things that appear after some people's posts.
