I have many games that i could speed run in 10 minutes but all I'm doing the whole time is jumping around and killing enemies that are in the way as well as bosses. Would this be too boring of a run or should i actually do it?

If you wish to make a speedrun, then go for speed and nothing else.

If you just want to produce an entertaining video.. there are some videos around that do not aim for speed. But to be entertaining you'll have to do more than just jump around and slash enemys, for example performing difficult or not-well-known tricks.

I think you just gave the definition of a speedrun.
Forward standard-by-ten .
I think he means they don't have speed tricks.  Some people are really into that, so go ahead I guess.

Hmm.. don't know if I would call that a speed run, but yeh.. I would love to watch them.

*shrug* As long as you go fast, it's a speed run. I mean, I didn't use any special tricks or anything for my Kirby runs... just went fast.

It really depends on the game for a speed run to be considered exciting or boring. Regardless, beating any game in the fastest time possible is an achievement you can be proud of. Showing off tricks is another way, but does not have to necessarily tie into speed running. Some of my favorite superplay videos I have on my computer are of shooter games like Gradius and Ikaruga. So choose a direction and focus that way, either the spped route, or the 'trick' route. If they coincide somehow, even better.
