Hello everyone!

Recently, I've been watching a few streamers play this game, and I finally decided to pick it up and speedrun it. Of course, the Japanese 1.0 version has proven to be the best due to fast text scrolling and several glitches/tricks. Only problem is... how can you tell it's the Japanese 1.0 version? I might sound like a noob but honestly, I have no idea. Also, what do you guys use to play on a Super Famicom here in North America. Do you use some kind of voltage converter or anything?

Check this thread Wink
Also, Japan and the US have the same power system (except for half of Japan having 50 Hz instead of 60). The US-SNES PSU should fit perfectly into the SFC. But you don't need to buy an SFC in the States, because the US SNES can take SFC games, if you break out two little bits of plastic where they can't be seen Wink

The way you can tell if it's a 1.0 is by looking at two numbers on the gray sticker on the back. The numbers you are looking for are embossed (not printed) on the sticker. For example, my cart has 00 embossed on it.
It doesn't matter what the numbers are BUT if the numbers are followed by the letter A or B, it's not a 1.0.  XXA = 1.1, XXB = 1.2
I used to have a nice picture that shows the embossed numbers but I can't find it anymore sadly.

AFAIK the numbers will usually be around the top left corner. Once you get your cart you can confirm that it's a 1.0 by simply doing an item dash with the bow or boomerang after you get the pegasus boots.
Thanks for the tips guys!
