Posting this because I'm unsure if I'm required to use a lossless encoder to record my source file. Currently, I'm using NVENC in OBS at 24000kbps, quality preset. I haven't found a super easy way to record lossless video and stream at the same time with my current setup. I'm also not exactly sure how to use Yua with a source file like this... I tried with default settings, and the XQ output ended up at 540p rather than 1080p. What settings should I use in Yua?

Thanks!

Thread title:
hey tiki, sorry for taking so long to get to this. that file's fine as a source. super high bitrate + oversampled resolution = effectively lossless as a source for final encodes. speaking of ... i set up yua like in the below screenshot to get the attached encodes. the cropping on the sides doesn't have to be super exact but it does have to say 1440 x 1080 at the bottom when you're done. none of the qualities over hq are required because the resolution of the game is so low to begin with. even hq is way higher res than the game but oversampling resolution on output preserves the original color detail (chroma resolution) because lq/mq/hq are chroma downsampled. so that's why hq is required even though it's like twice the game's res.
