I'd be into it.  Kiss
Hey Ho Let's Go
We used to have a Quake II section on SDA. We still have all the demos on the archive if anyone's interrested... Jube?  Wink
*puts on robe and wizard hat*
The physics were too... funny. I never liked Quake2 for speedrunning.

I heard he died a few years back and what we know of him is just Amriks split personality

oh and about q2, the idea sounds fun but my gaming time is spent mostly elsewhere at the moment.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
tim you've got a good point. Grin

anyways, i must admit that quake2 sp is not fit for speedrunning indeed, well except a few small maps that can be done fast.

the one map one demo approach doesn't translate at all for quake2 apart from some maps .. mini marathons per unit tho? Smiley mmmmm also per unit the gameplay is varied so its not 2 boring

but its more of a thing i'd want than someone would want to watch, unless my talent picked up
Lapsed Quaker...

Thus speaketh the ignoramus.

If you think that Quake2 is not suitable for speedrunning, you have either never played it. Or you are stupid. Or both.

Quake2 has just about equal potential for running, depending on the map design of course (and some Q2 mappers may make more complex maps that is true. But some don't). Exactly the same principles as Quake speedrunning can be applied and the tricks are almost as good (and there's double jumping of course...and other subtler tricks).

See http://teamshambler.telefragged.com/q2sr.shtml if you don't believe me.

Stubby - I'd be interested to see it. Dunno whether I'd participate but the running potential is very good.
Shambler's right. Q2 is good for running.
